It is the stuff of nightmares, something that keeps any goalkeeper awake at night and sadly such a nightmare became a reality for Charlton stopper Dillion Phillips during the Sky Bet League One Play-Off Final.
Just four minutes into the Wembley Final against Sunderland, defender Naby Sarr delivered a tame back pass to Phillips, who then let the ball slip under his foot and saw it roll into the back of the net.
Phillips could breathe a sigh of relief later, as Ben Purrington equalised for the London club.
Then he was all smiles again, as captain Patrick Bauer scored a 94th minute winner to see Charlton see off Sunderland 2-1 and be promoted back to the Sky Bet Championship after a four year absence.
