Super 6 experts guide and tips to win £1m

We provide you with all the insight and stats to help scoop the £1million jackpot up for grabs in this week's Soccer Saturday Super 6.

Our football editor Nick Hext is up first, while we've also asked Sky Bet football trader Micky Mumford for his predictions, as well as picking out the most relevant of Opta's match stats.

Blackpool v AFC Wimbledon

Nick Hext predicts: 1-1 – "I reckon AFC Wimbledon will push up the table and a point at Blackpool will be a decent return."

Micky Mumford predicts: 1-0 – "The Tangerines’ two wins this term have come by the odd goal while the goal-shy Wombles have failed to find the net twice in their opening four fixtures."

Key Opta stats: The Tangerines have lost just one of their last 14 home league games and have won the last four in a row, while their visitors have won just once in their last 17 away games in league competition (D8 L8).

Bury v Scunthorpe

Nick Hext predicts: 1-2 – "Scunthorpe won big on the road last weekend and can claim another three-point haul against Bury."

Micky Mumford predicts: 1-3 – "An influx of new additions at Gigg Lane struggling to gel coupled by the strange departures of Alex Bruce after 17 days and new summer signing Adam Thompson’s shock loan switch to rivals Bradford does not bode well. Scunny buoyed by last week’s demolition job at Plymouth have started strongly."

Key Opta stats: Bury have picked up just two wins in their last 12 games in league competition (D4 L6), with both victories arriving at Gigg Lane, whole Scunthorpe have won seven and lost none of their last nine league matches, and have won three of their last four on the road (D1).

Doncaster v Peterborough

Nick Hext predicts: 1-3 – "Posh are great value to claim another Sky Bet League One win."

Micky Mumford predicts: 0-2 – Peterborough are one of only two EFL clubs with a 100% start to the campaign, hitting 12 goals in the process, and can maintain it with a victory over former manager Darren Ferguson. Rovers have one eye on their upcoming Carabao Cup clash at Arsenal and they’ll struggle to contain in-form Posh frontman Jack Marriott.

Key Opta stats: Peterborough have won their opening four league games of the season and are unbeaten against Doncaster in five meetings (W3 D2).

Gillingham v Shrewsbury

Nick Hext predicts: 1-1 – "The Shrews are set for two draws in a row at Gillingham, who also drew last weekend."

Micky Mumford predicts: 1-2 – "Two of the pre-season favourites for relegation have had differing starts and Shrewsbury can continue their excellent form with a slender victory at Priestfield. Gills terminated last season’s Player of the Year Josh Wright’s contract this week and Ady Pennock’s side face another season of struggle."

Key Opta stats: Gillingham have won fewer Sky Bet League One games in 2017 than any other team (four, excluding relegated sides), while Shrewsbury have only lost one of their last nine league matches against the Gills (W4 D4).

MK Dons v Oxford

Nick Hext predicts: 0-0 – "Two sides who can push for the play-offs will cancel each other out in this clash."

Micky Mumford predicts: 2-2 – "Both had midweek Checkatrade Trophy victories and while Oxford were perhaps the more eye-catching, hitting Stevenage for six, the odds suggest this one will be a close-knit affair. Score draw."

Key Opta stats: MK Dons have lost three of their last four home league games, as many as in the previous 13 combined, while, after winning five consecutive league games, the U’s have failed to win their last two (D1 L1).

Oldham v Charlton

Nick Hext predicts: 0-3 – "The Addicks are a much better side than the struggling Latics."

Micky Mumford predicts: 0-2 – "The Latics are yet to collect a point, decimated by injuries and uncertainly behind the scenes – with five French-speaking trialists understood to have arrived at Boundary Park this week – so John Sheridan looks to have his work cut out. Opposite can be said of the Addicks where Karl Robinson looks to have found the winning formula at The Valley. Comfortable away win.

Key Opta stats: This is the third time in Oldham’s history where they’ve lost their opening four league games of the season, while Charlton have recorded seven wins from their last nine games in league competition (D1 L1).
