Sporting Life Accumulator Charity Challenge 2017/18

Find out how we're going to guarantee that the Sporting Life Accumulator is a success story this year. Honest...

Let's make no bones about it: last year was a disaster for the Sporting Life Accumulator and any unfortunate souls (of whom this author is one) who followed it.

We had some unfortunate near-misses and one of our staff (me) left the office weeping after a particularly late, late goal, but the bottom line was quite a simple one. We did not manage to find a single winning four-fold from our 'popular' weekend feature.

The Sporting Life Accumulator is meant to be a bit of fun - low risk, potential for high reward, and, hopefully, something which appeals to some of our readers.

Perhaps you haven't had time to study the form. Perhaps you've an appetite for destruction. One way or another, we know that people read about the Sporting Life Accumulator, and we know, once upon a time, it was a wonderful, winning thing. Them were the days.

So rather than pretend 2016/17 the Sporting Life Accumulator never happened, like a heavy night you'd rather forget, we're going to focus on the positives and have another crack. Only this time, we're going to make sure that whatever happens, somebody benefits.

Surely, we'll be celebrating soon...
Surely, we'll be celebrating soon...

Here's how.

Every week, Sky Bet are giving us a £10 free bet on the Sporting Life Accumulator. (Evidently, they too have lost faith in it...)

We're going to keep a running total which you will be able to follow. Every bet we have will be registered, every profit and every loss calculated.

Come the final weekend of the Premier League season if we are winning, as we hope to be, we'll give every penny to our chosen charity - the Give A Duck Foundation.

If we lose, we will still make a generous donation to Give A Duck. But our aim is that we win, you win and that, in doing so, we're able to give a sizeable cheque to a charity whose fine work you can read about here.

We know that some weeks you'll be on board with us. Others, you might think we've got it completely wrong and ignore our selections and if you have got a winner to share, you know where to find us.

What's more, Sky Bet have also invited ITV Racing presenters and Sporting Life ambassadors Ed Chamberlin and Oli Bell to have a go, with all winnings topping up the fund.

Below, you'll find all this week's opening multiples, plus details of Sky Bet's Soccer Saturday Price Boost and our RequestABets for the weekend.

Good luck for the season ahead.
