RequestABets which have cost Sky Bet the most

With our betting partners Sky Bet offering a free bet to their RequestABet punters in Wednesday’s Barcelona v Paris Saint-Germain game, we take a look back at their most costly payouts in such markets during the season so far.

Sunderland v Everton, September 12

300/1Lukaku to score a hat-trick & Everton to win 3-0

Given how both Sunderland and Lukaku have performed since, this price does look rather big but it should be remembered that the Belgian striker went into this game having failed to score for his club since March, a run of 13 games.

Backers of the bet wouldn’t have been that happy when the game reached the interval goalless but three goals in an 11-minute spell in the second half resulted in the biggest RequestABet payout of the season thus far.

Bayern Munich v Arsenal, February 15

400/1Lewandowski to score a header & Arsenal to miss a penalty

Things started to get very interesting for backers of this RequestABet once Alexis Sanchez saw his spot kick saved by Manuel Neuer after half an hour (he did net from the rebound).

Once Munich took charge after the break it was easy to see Lewandowski netting and when he used his head to do so after 53 minutes, the 400/1 shot was home and hosed with something to spare.

Champions League, September 14

33/1 Suarez & Aguero to score & Brown & Otamendi to be carded

A costly RequestABet that almost never was – Manchester City’s clash with Borussia Monchengladbach was postponed 24 hours but Sky Bet rules stated bets would stand.

By that stage, Luis Suarez had netted against Celtic (twice) in a 7-0 win and Scott Brown had been booked in the game.

Aguero scored after just eight minutes the following night with Otamendi bringing home the bacon with a second-half booking.

Premier League, October 1

50/1Both teams to score, each team four or more corners & each team 20 or more booking points in Watford v Bournemouth & West Ham v Middlesbrough

Some RequestABets certainly make the mind boggle and this one fell into that category but it proved a worthwhile effort for more than 1,000 punters at tasty odds.

They had to sweat though – corners for West Ham in the 89th minute and Watford in the 90th were required for it to pay out.

Aston Villa v Leeds, December 29

7/1Both teams to score, each team four or more corners & each team 20 or more booking points

One of the most popular RequestABets came in this festive Championship fixture.

The payout all hinged on a late incident which saw Villa awarded a penalty for handball. Rudy Gestede’s yellow card in the ensuing melee got Villa to 20 booking points and then Jonathan Kodjia fired home from the spot to allow punters to celebrate.
