Sunday August 13
Romelu Lukaku (Man Utd)
Scoring twice on his United debut: "To play in front of such a crowd and for such a great club, it's a dream come true. But the most important thing is the win - the win was good. When you play for Manchester United everybody has a job to do and mine is to score goals for the team. The team did a good job today, everybody was creative."
Jose Mourinho (Man Utd)
On Lukaku's perfect debut: "It's always important. New players in new clubs, new strikers, everyone expects goals from them. The pressure is with them. It's always nice for their confidence."
Slaven Bilic (West Ham)
On his side's opening day hammering: "I expected more of course, but I have to admit they were a much better side in every aspect of the game. We knew they had a strong side of course, but I expected us to do much better. We started okay but then it was missing, we were much slower than them. It's very hard to find any positives now when you lose 4-0."
Rafael Benitez (Newcastle)
On Jonjo Shelvey's red card: He knows that he had made a mistake, he apologised, but still we lost the game.
"To be fair, I was happy with the effort of the players and there were a lot of positives, but still if you want to win games, we cannot lose our focus for just one minute.
"We know that we are in the Premier League and we have to do everything really well if we want to win games.
"All the effort that we put on the pitch was lost because we made a mistake."
Mauricio Pochettino (Tottenham)
On Dele Alli keeping his cool: "He was calm - that's important. Last season, we talked a lot about that, how we need to behave and improve and learn.
"He's mature enough now to accept sometimes what happens on the pitch, but he is so clam, he is so brave.
"Then he scored - and he scored a great goal - and I am very pleased. He needs to improve, he is not at his best expression, but it is coming."
Saturday August 12
Marco Silva (Watford)
On getting a late equaliser: "Of course I think it is a good result for us and a fair result," he said.
"It was a very good first half for our team, good rhythm. I didn't like the first 25 minutes of the second-half.
"We expected a good reaction from our opponents but to play with the same intensity.
"We reacted well and left it until the end, it is really important to us and we really, really deserved the result as well."
Jurgen Klopp (Liverpool)
On Philippe Coutinho's rejected transfer request: "I cannot really say a lot about it.
"I am responsible for the whole team, all the players, so I need to be focused on the players who are available. The players who are not available, I have no influence over it.
"I have to accept decisions from the owners, that's how it is, and sometimes from the players. At this moment I am just concentrating on my team."
Antonio Conte (Chelsea)
On the referee sending off Gary Cahill and Cesc Fabregas: "Mmm.....I prefer to not comment on the referee's decision and performance.
"I think that the coach, the players and referee can make mistakes."
Antonio Conte is 11/4 favourite with Sky Bet to be the first Premier League manager to leave!
Sean Dyche (Burnley)
On the referee sending off Gary Cahill and Cesc Fabregas: "The sending off makes a big difference. I haven't seen it but my staff tell me it's the correct decision.
"I thought the referee was really good. He had a tough game to handle and he did well overall. We responded to the sending off well.
"Overall we deserved it. They're a top class side with some fantastic individuals. Losing 3-0 is not usual for them so they had to respond so credit to them for that
Crystal Palace 0-3 Huddersfield Town
Frank de Boer (Crystal Palace)
On Palace's defeat: "We lost the game in 15 minutes.
"We started quite well and then after 10 minutes we made the wrong choices and we were pulled back. From there they got a corner and scored.
"They were the team with the most opportunities at that moment. But it was just down to making the wrong decisions. After 15 minutes we did exactly what we were supposed to do and then we had control of the game.
"Until the 3-0 we were very close to making it 2-1. If we had done that, then I would have been confident we would have at least got a point.
"I saw some very good things but we have to understand the game doesn't last 75 minutes. If just in those 15 minutes you don't do what the game asked of you, you get punished."
Frank de Boer is 7/1 with Sky Bet to be the first Premier League manager to leave!
David Wagner (Huddersfield Town)
On moving to the top of the table: "I can't take that seriously.
"Let's just focus on our performance, which was good, and the result was excellent. Nobody is looking at the table.
"We should not look too far ahead. We should focus on what we have seen and that made me very happy. You cannot moan if you play your first game in the top flight in 45 years and you win 3-0 away. We know we were very clinical and had bit of luck when they missed chances.
"With the togetherness and fighting attitude we had, and the idea to keep them away from goal by pressing them as high as possible, we were brave enough to try to press them high and over the game our game plan worked.
"I said beforehand we will stick to our identity and idea. This means you have to show togetherness. We were clinical: it was a great debut for Steve Mounie and we had a great goalkeeper (Jonas Lossl) and that helped massively. Did I expect this result? No, but i hoped it could happen. This makes for a wonderful afternoon."
Ronald Koeman (Everton)
On Wayne Rooney: "There was one player in an Everton shirt today who from the first second to the last second was comfortable on the pitch.
"He made every decision the right one and he scored a great goal from a great cross from Dominic.
"But in difficult moments in the game he showed his experience.
"He was clever, he was comfortable on the ball. That was different to some other players.
"That's why we signed Wayne, expecting to show his team-mates all that experience and it was really important."
Mark Hughes (Stoke City)
On Stoke's display: "I thought we did fine today.
"We had a lot of control, certainly in the first half. I think we were good value and we needed to get to half-time.
"Probably the only chance that Everton created in the first half was the quality ball that they put into the box for you know who.
"He was always going to be part of the story today. That was always the worry and that's how it has panned out."

Mauricio Pellegrino (Southampton)
On Virgil van Dijk: "When you are outside the team you have to be behind them, supporting them," said Pellegrino.
"Hopefully he can change his point of view to be with us in the next few weeks.
"I've talked with him (Van Dijk) twice, and the club was clear with him.
"I think all of us at the club, the technical director, me as a manager, we know that Virgil is an important part of the club.
"But we need him in another way, not like the way he is right now."
Paul Clement (Swansea City)
On potential transfers: "I'm not going to speak about incoming players.
"The only situation that's important at the moment is the Gylfi Sigurdsson transfer situation.
"If that does go through then we can start acting on potential targets. I want to do that kind of stuff in private until there's something certain.
"There's a situation where both clubs have not agreed, there's a difference of opinion on the valuation of the player. But I don't think it's far away now."
West Bromwich Albion 1-0 AFC Bournemouth
Tony Pulis (West Bromwich Albion)
On the transfer market: "We need to get some players in and we need to get some players in quickly. Sam Field lasted an hour and was fantastic today and then we bring Rak (Harper) on, another 17-year-old.
"We need more players in - good players. Everyone around the club is waiting for them to come in.
"We need players to improve us to give us a better opportunity and a better chance to do well. We've got 17 senior professionals - and some of them are towards the older end of the scale.
"But I know where I am, I've been managing clubs at the bottom end of it financially for years. I know how it happens, you just wait. We've got targets, we'll get them in the next two weeks. We need to.
"The team needs to be given a lift, everyone does, the team, the supporters. They were fantastic, the supporters today, I thought they were brilliant."
Eddie Howe (AFC Bournemouth)
On a tough afternoon for his side: "I think when you come here there's a sort of predictability about what kind of game you'll face. But even though there is that predictability, you've still got to find a way to win and we didn't do well enough in possession.
"We were too slow and too predictable and West Brom were really effective in what they did.
"There's a lot of stuff for us to go away and work on and hopefully we'll come back better next week."

Brighton and Hove Albion 0-2 Manchester City
Chris Hughton (Brighton and Hove Albion)
On bouncing back from the defeat: "It's reasonably easy after a game like today.
"It doesn't need a scientist to determine that we'll lose more games this season than in the last couple of years.
"We've won a lot of games - particularly here at home, it's been a bit of a fortress for us - but if you want to play in the top division, you're up against the top teams. You need to put the defeats and the poor performances behind you and look forward to that next one."
Pep Guardiola (Manchester City)
On starting with a victory: "We're here to win games and we won the first one - but it's just the first one," he said.
"Against newly-promoted teams it's always complicated - they defend so deep, with 10 players - but we were able in the end to win the game.
"We have to learn to attack better if teams play in that way, the big teams have to handle those situations. I'm happy with what I've seen today.
"With the results this weekend, I'm happy to win away."
Friday August 11
Arsene Wenger (Arsenal)
On Olivier Giroud staying with the Gunners: "It is fantastic.
"You know, I must say I opened the door for him at some stage because I know that it's important for him to play.
"But I don't want him to go and in the end he decided to stay and it was one of the days of recent weeks for me because I know how important he is.
"Not only as a player, he is a fantastic player, but as well in the group. He has a big weight in the squad and it was a relief for me that he decided to stay."
Craig Shakespeare (Leicester City)
Asked if Riyad Mahrez is staying: "Who knows?
"I think we have all seen the funny business of the transfer window and we never know what is round the corner. Riyad has been very focused.
"He came out and made a statement which we are all aware of but while he trains and plays and is professional the way he is, he will be considered for selection."
