Fantasy Football focus on Huddersfield Town

Ross Williams looks at which of Huddersfield's summer signings could set be make a big impact in Sky Sports Fantasy Football.

David Wagner has wasted little time in getting his newly-promoted Huddersfield Town side prepared for life in the Premier League.

The new campaign is still a month away, but the Terriers have already brought in 10 new recruits for pre-season action.

Previous Premier League experience is in short supply among the latest crop of Town players, but could some of their new boys impress in Sky Sports Fantasy Football?

Laurent Depoitre

Arriving on June 24, Laurent Depoitre became Huddersfield's first-ever signing as a Premier League club. The striker failed to make an impact at Porto last season, but he brings with him a wealth of goalscoring experience across the Belgian leagues - including 24 strikes during his time at Gent. At £8.5million, the 28-year-old could prove to be a handy, affordable option if he can hit some form, but looks a gamble to start the campaign with.

Aaron Mooy

The lynchpin of Huddersfield's midfield in their promotion season, Australian Aaron Mooy now has the chance to prove his worth on the biggest stage, following his permanent move from Manchester City. The £7.5million signing is Huddersfield's most expensive midfielder in Sky Sports Fantasy Football, but seeing as only Fulham's Tom Cairney completed more passes than him in the Sky Bet Championship last season, his value seems justified. Mooy averaged just over 67 passes per game, meaning he would have been picking up bonus points each and every week in fantasy play.

Tom Ince

The Terriers' most expensive-ever signing, Tom Ince has everything to prove this coming season. The winger was excellent for Derby last year - netting on 14 occasions - and he does have Premier League experience, albeit only briefly during spells at Crystal Palace and Hull City. If this is the season when Ince truly arrives on the scene, his £7.4million price tag may be one of the bargains of the year.

Steve Mounie

Following a season at Montpellier that saw the 22-year-old score 14 times in Ligue 1, the signing of Benin international Steve Mounie has Huddersfield fans excited. The forward's goalscoring prowess in top-level football bodes well and as he's priced at just £8.5million, he could well be worth the gamble if he can earn Wagner's faith.

Jonas Lossl

Jonas Lossl joined Huddersfield's Premier League squad on a loan deal from Mainz, with an option to make the deal permanent. The Danish stopper was handed the number one jersey upon arrival and the £5.7million signing appears to be in line to replace Danny Ward, who returned to Liverpool. He endured a troubling campaign in the Bundesliga last season, keeping just five clean sheets from 27 games, after being installed as first-choice following the departure of Loris Karius.
