Betting update: Hull 6/4 for Premier League drop

Hull are 6/4 with Sky Bet to be relegated from the Premier League after retaining a two-point cushion over Swansea on Saturday.

Premier League

The focus was very much at the foot of the table on Saturday with none of the big six in action.

Middlesbrough's 4-0 defeat at Bournemouth coupled with victories for Swansea and Hull surely seals their fate; they now join Sunderland as 100/1 shots to survive.

Hull, 6/4 for the drop, remain two points clear of Swansea, who are 4/7. It still looks like one of those two will join Sunderland and Middlesbrough in the Sky Bet Championship next season, but the fact both Hull and Swansea picked up victories will mean Crystal Palace (22/1) and Burnley (40/1) can't quite sleep comfortably just yet.

FA Cup

Chelsea are 4/5 favourites to win the FA Cup after beating Premier League title rivals Tottenham 4-2 in a high-quality semi-final at Wembley on Saturday evening.

Manchester City or Arsenal await Antonio Conte's Blues, and are 15/8 and 11/2 respectively ahead of Sunday's second semi-final.

Big Winner

One lucky Sky Bet punter won over £20,000 from just a £3 football accumulator on Saturday.

The customer placed a £3 treble on both teams scoring in both halves in Chelsea v Tottenham (18/1), Hibernian v Aberdeen (18/1) and Crawley v Carlisle (18/1).

The winning bet was sealed during the thrilling FA Cup semi-final at Wembley, where Chelsea led 2-1 at the break after Willian scored a brace either side Harry Kane's 18th-minute effort before both sides struck three more times between them as the Blues ran out 4-2 victors.

Much earlier in the day, the Sky Bet punter looked as though his luck was out when the Scottish Cup semi-final between Hibernian and Aberdeen was heading for extra-time with the scores level at 2-2.

Aberdeen had scored both their goals in the first half but with four minutes remaining, Darren McGregor put through his own net to keep the bet alive.

The punter then breathed another sigh of relief when Crawley Town's Jimmy Smith struck in the second minute of stoppage time to salvage a 3-3 draw with Carlisle. His side's previous goals were both in the first half.

And so for the drama at Wembley, where Eden Hazard's 75th-minute goal clinched this lucky punter's huge pay day of £20,577!

Sky Bet Championship

Nothing was mathematically confirmed today but Wigan can be relegated tomorrow and are not even quoted in the relegation market.

The final place could go down to the last day. Blackburn fought for a hard-earned draw at Wolves and with two games left are the most likely side to face the drop. They are 1/3 having been 8/13 at the start of the day, shortening thanks to Nottingham Forest’s fine 3-2 victory over promotion hopefuls Reading.

Forest are out to 14/1 to go down now having been 3/1 at the start of the day. Blackburn’s main chance of getting out of trouble may hinge on the Second City Derby on Sunday, where Harry Redknapp takes charge of Birmingham for the first time. The Blues are 11/4 for the drop ahead of that game.

At the top it is unchanged, with Brighton losing last night and Newcastle not in action until Monday. The chasing pack for playoff places was spaced out a little, with Leeds out to 9/2 from 8/11 to reach the play-offs after losing away at Burton and handing the advantage to the teams currently occupying the third to sixth. Huddersfield, Reading, Sheffield Wednesday and Fulham are all 1/20 or shorter.

Sky Bet League One

Swindon have been relegated after losing to Scunthorpe who have already secured a play-off spot and are 4/1 to be promoted.

At 1/50, Port Vale are all but down after losing at home to Bolton. The Trotters ran out 2-0 winners and are now as short at 1/12 to be promoted and a win against Peterborough next week will guarantee they go up automatically, with a draw almost certainly taking them up as well.

This would condemn Fleetwood to the play-offs – which they are a 9/2 shot to win.

Bradford secured a comfortable 3-0 victory against AFC Wimbledon and are 13/8 favourites to win the play-offs. Millwall suffered a surprise 3-0 loss at home to Oxford but still sit in the last play-off spot and are 8/11 to qualify and 4/1 to win them.

Sky Bet League Two

Doncaster and Plymouth both opened the door for Portsmouth to make a late run at the title. The leaders Doncaster lost away at Wycombe, with Plymouth drawing at Colchester and Portsmouth winning at home to Cambridge.

Doncaster have the advantage but also have the trickier fixtures and are out to 2/9 to lift the title, having been 1/9 before today. Plymouth are in to 4/1 and Portsmouth are 11/1 to complete an unlikely charge at the title.

Luton all but booked a play-off place but the rest of the chasing pack can all still seal a place after today’s results.

It’s looking like Blackpool and Exeter will join Luton but the last place is anyone’s guess; one point seperates Stevenage, Mansfield, Wycombe and Carlisle.

Stevenage are given the best chance of nicking the last spot at 11/8, whilst Carlisle, who occupied a top-three spot for most of the season, are out at 13/2 alongside Cambridge. Wycombe and Mansfield are 9/4 and 3/1 respectively.

At the bottom there was a huge turnaround, with Hartlepool left staring into the abyss after losing at home to Barnet whilst rivals Newport nicked a crucial 1-0 win at home to Accrington.

The gap is now two points in Newport’s favour and the Welsh side are out to 4/1 to go down, with Hartlepool looking at overturning odds of 1/5 to remain a Sky Bet EFL side.
