Croatia v England: Sporting Life's RequestABets for the semi-final game

England take on Croatia in Moscow looking for a spot in the World Cup semi-final - we put together some RequestABets for the game.

If you are under the age of 28, you have never seen England play in a World Cup semi-final. If you were born earlier than 1990, it's been a long wait for this to happen again.

This is only the third time that the Three Lions have made the last four of a World Cup, and they'll be looking to reach only their second final.

The Sporting Life team have put together their Sky Bet RequestABets for the game - all of which can be found by heading here.

Note, unless otherwise stated - all of our RABs are 90 minutes only.

Tom Carnduff

Jesse Lingard to score from outside the area, Raheem Sterling 1+ shots on target, over 1.5 goals and 40+ booking points - 33/1

Jesse Lingard scored a wonderful goal in the 6-1 win over Panama, and there's every chance he could strike again here.

The Manchester United man picked up an assist last time out and isn't afraid to try his luck from distance, and in all honesty I'd rather take the enhanced odds of him scoring from outside the area than the standard 10/3 on him to score in 90 minutes.

I've done our full betting preview for this game, which you can read here, and I've backed Raheem Sterling to be involved in this one. He got in the right positions against Sweden and I can see him picking up at least one goal.

The referee here is the strict Cuneyt Cakir, who takes a no-nonsense approach to officiating - so we could expect a few cards on Wednesday night.

Kane to score, England 2-0, under 60 booking points - 16/1

Captain Harry Kane has caused Dejan Lovren nightmares in their last few encounters, and will be relishing the opportunity to face him again on the biggest stage.

England I feel will get the job done, and reach their first final since 1966, I don’t feel Croatia showed enough against Russia to worry England at the back.

I reckon the game will be more technical than gritty, and therefore I think under 60 booking points looks good value here.

Kieran Trippier & Raheem Sterling to score, England to win to nil in 90 minutes - 250/1

Ah, the long shot RequestABet from our selections...

Raheem Sterling was brilliant against the Swedes, direct and dangerous – just how I like my wingers.

Yes, he lacks a bit of confidence in front of goal but it will come and I fancy it to be against Croatia, when it matters the most.

As for Trippier, the boy is an absolute sensation, and if England are awarded a free-kick in a dangerous area, I reckon he’ll bang it in the top corner and send us through to the final.

England win to nil, Harry Kane first goalscorer, 30+ Croatia booking points - 14/1

Harry Kane has been in exceptional form throughout this World Cup and finds himself with a great opportunity to win the Golden Boot.

Croatia will know he is a threat - and he'll be eager to strike here given the fact he didn't score against Sweden.

The strict referee appointment could also see cards shown and that could work against Croatia.

George Pitts

Maguire to score a header, 30+ Croatia booking points, 5+ England corners - 66/1

Be it via full-time, extra-time or penalties, England will hopefully book their place in Sunday’s showpiece and there is no reason why Harry Maguire cannot make it two from two.

He got into some excellent positions from set pieces against Colombia and looked extremely dangerous in the opposition box, coming close to the ball every time before someone beat him to it, so it was no surprise he scored against Sweden in the quarter-final.

England look a threat from set pieces, with so much success in the tournament so far, and it will be key in Gareth Southgate’s game plan, hence the corners addition in the betslip.

It could be a cagey affair and for that reason Croatia could receive at least three bookings in their attempts to thwart the Three Lions.
