The Sky Bet Championship returns this weekend and Opta have provided facts for each of the 12 fixtures taking place.

Saturday June 20
Fulham v Brentford (12:30 BST)

- Fulham have won just one of their last 18 home games against Brentford in all competitions (D10 L7), a 1-0 victory back in April 1990.
- Brentford are looking to complete a league double over Fulham for the first time since the 2014-15 season.
- Fulham have won more points at home this season than any other Championship team (38).
- Fulham have registered 506 sequences of 10+ passes in open play this season, 153 more than the next highest side which is Brentford (353).
- Brentford have won just two of their last 10 away games in the Championship (D4 L4).
- Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic, who is the Championship’s leading scorer this season (23 goals), has won more points with his goals than any other player in the competition in 2019-20 (23 pts won).
Millwall v Derby
- Millwall are looking to record a league double over Derby for the second consecutive season, having beaten the Rams twice during the 2018-19 campaign.
- Derby have won just one of their last 12 away games against Millwall in all competitions (W1 D5 L6).
- Former Derby manager Gary Rowett has won his last three Championship games against the Rams, all with different clubs – Birmingham (2015-16), Stoke (2018-19) and Millwall earlier this season.
- Millwall are without a win in their last four home league games, drawing the last three in a row (L1). They last went five without winning at home in March 2019.
- Derby are looking to win three consecutive league games for the first time since September 2018. However, the Rams are winless in their last 13 away league games in London (D7 L6), losing all four such games in 2019-20.
- Millwall striker Matt Smith (11), who scored a hat-trick last time out vs Nottingham Forest, is one goal away from equalling his best scoring season in the Championship (12 with Leeds in 2013-14).
Blackburn v Bristol City
- Blackburn are looking to complete a league double over Bristol City for the first time since the 2012-13 campaign.
- Bristol City have never won consecutive away league matches against Blackburn, with this their 22nd visit in the Football League.
- Blackburn have lost just one of their last 14 home league games (W6 D7), losing 0-1 vs Fulham in February.
- No Championship team has scored the opening goal of the game on more occasions this season than Blackburn Rovers (23), with Tony Mowbray’s side winning 13, drawing seven and losing three of those games.
- Bristol City are without a win in five league games (D2 L3), since a 3-2 victory against Derby in February. Indeed, the Robins last endured a longer winless run back in August 2018 (7 games).
- Bristol City striker Nahki Wells has scored five goals in 10 league appearances against Blackburn, netting against them for QPR earlier this season.
Huddersfield v Wigan
- This is the first league meeting between Huddersfield and Wigan at the John Smith’s Stadium since November 2016, when the Latics won 2-1 under Warren Joyce.
- Wigan’s 2-1 away league win at Huddersfield in 2016-17 is their only win there in 13 visits in the Football League (W1 D6 L6).
- The home side has failed to win any of the last five league meetings between Huddersfield and Wigan since a 1-0 home win for the Terriers in February 2014.
- Huddersfield are looking to win three consecutive home league games for the first time since a run of four between January and February 2017.
- Wigan have dropped 31 points from leading positions in the Championship this season, six more than any other team.
- Huddersfield striker Karlan Grant has been directly involved in 20 goals in the Championship this season (16 goals, 4 assists) – the first Terriers player to reach 20+ goal involvements in a league campaign since Nahki Wells in 2015-16 (17 goals, 4 assists).
Hull v Charlton
- Hull and Charlton haven’t met at the KCOM Stadium since January 2016, when the Tigers hammered the Addicks 6-0 under Steve Bruce.
- Charlton’s last away league win at Hull came back in October 2007, winning 2-1 with goals from Luke Varney and Chris Iwelumo.
- Hull have won fewer points at home than any other team in the Championship this season (21).
- Only Luton (10) and Barnsley (12) have won fewer points away from home in the Championship in 2019-20 than Charlton (13).
- Hull City have lost nine of their last 11 league games (D2), last winning on New Year’s Day against Sheffield Wednesday. Indeed, the Tigers last went 12 in a row without a league win back in August 2009.
- Charlton have lost their last three league games without scoring a single goal – they last lost four in a row without scoring back in November 2015 (run of 5).
Luton v Preston
- This is the first league meeting between Luton and Preston at Kenilworth Road since December 2006, a 2-0 victory for the Hatters.
- Preston’s last away league win at Luton came back in November 1999, winning 2-0 with two goals from David Eyres.
- Luton Town have conceded the first goal in more games this season than any other Championship team (26), going on to lose 19 of those matches (W4 D3).
- Preston have won all five of their league games in 2019-20 against teams promoted from League One last season, beating both Barnsley and Charlton twice and Luton earlier this season.
- Luton have lost only once in their last six Championship matches (W3 D2), while the Hatters are also unbeaten in three at Kenilworth Road (W2 D1).
- Preston’s Daniel Johnson has scored more goals via the penalty spot than any other Championship player this season (6), netting from the spot last time out versus QPR.
Middlesbrough v Swansea
- Middlesbrough have won just one of their last nine games against Swansea in all competitions (W1 D3 L5), a 3-0 win in the Premier League in December 2016.
- Swansea are looking to record only their third league double over Middlesbrough, having previously done so in 1925-26 and 2010-11.
- Middlesbrough’s 1-0 win against Charlton ended a 10-match winless run in the Championship (D5 L5), they last won consecutively back on New Year’s Day.
- Swansea City are without a win in their last seven away league games (D4 L3), since a 1-0 win at Luton in December.
- Only Luton (13) and Hull (11) have conceded the opening goal of the game in more home fixtures in the Championship this season than Middlesbrough (10).
- Three of Rhian Brewster’s four goals for Swansea in the Championship have come away from home.
QPR v Barnsley
- QPR have won their last 11 home league games against Barnsley, a run stretching back to February 2001, with eight different managers registering a win over the Tykes in that time.
- Barnsley are looking to record a league double over QPR for the first time since the 1949-50 season.
- QPR’s run of 11 consecutive home league wins against Barnsley is the longest in their history against an opponent, three longer than they’ve had against anyone else in the Football League.
- Barnsley have won three of their last four away league games in London (L1), including beating Millwall and Fulham this season.
- Only West Brom (24) have won more points from losing positions in the Championship this term than QPR (19).
- No Championship side has a worse shot conversion rate this season than Barnsley (8%), with the Tykes scoring 42 goals from 523 shots.
Reading v Stoke
- In all competitions, five of the last six meetings between Reading and Stoke have ended as draws, with Stoke winning 2-1 in the other in February 2013.
- Stoke are winless in their last 14 away league visits to Reading (D6 L8) since a 1-0 win in December 1992.
- Reading have picked up just 23 points at the Madejski Stadium this season, only Barnsley (22) and Hull (21) have won fewer on home soil.
- Only Fulham (22) have won more points in the Championship in 2020 than Stoke City (21).
- After a run of one win in 10 league games (D4 L5), Reading have won consecutive matches – last winning three in a row in January 2020 (run of 4).
- Six of Stoke striker Tyrese Campbell’s seven league goals this season have arrived under current manager Michael O’Neill, averaging a goal every 123 minutes.
Sheffield Wednesday v Nottingham Forest
- Sheffield Wednesday have won their last four home league games against Nottingham Forest since losing 1-0 in August 2014.
- Nottingham Forest have lost nine of their last 10 league games against Sheffield Wednesday, winning the other 2-1 in September 2018.
- Sheffield Wednesday have won just one of their last 10 matches in the Championship (W1 D3 L6), losing the last two while conceding eight goals in those defeats.
- Nottingham Forest have only lost two of their last 12 away league matches (W5 D5), although they’ve shipped exactly two goals in three of the last four (W1 D2 L1).
- Nottingham Forest’s Lewis Grabban has scored 11 away league goals this season – the only Championship player with more is Aleksandar Mitrovic (12).
- Sheffield Wednesday striker Steven Fletcher has scored 13 goals in 26 appearances in 2019-20 – his best scoring season in English league football. Indeed, Fletcher’s goals have been worth eight points for the Owls, more than any other player at the club this term.
West Brom v Birmingham

- West Bromwich Albion are unbeaten in seven matches against Birmingham in all competitions (W5 D2) since a 2-0 defeat in October 2006.
- Birmingham City have won just one of their last eight league visits to West Brom (W1 D3 L4), a 3-2 win in August 2005.
- West Brom are winless in their last two league games (D1 L1), failing to score on both occasions – they last went three consecutive matches without scoring back in December 2017 in the top-flight.
- Only Hull (11) are currently enduring a longer winless run amongst current Championship sides than Birmingham City (5 – D4 L1).
- West Brom’s Kamil Grosicki has been directly involved in six goals in four league starts against Birmingham City (3 goals, 3 assists).
- No Championship team has scored more goals via corners this season than Birmingham City (13), with five of their last 15 league goals coming via a corner.
Sunday June 21
Cardiff v Leeds (12:00 BST)

- This is the first league meeting between Cardiff and Leeds at the Cardiff City Stadium since September 2017, a 3-1 win for the Bluebirds under Neil Warnock.
- Leeds have taken just one point from their last four league games against Cardiff (D1 L3), drawing 3-3 having been 3-0 up in the reverse fixture this season.
- This will be the first time Cardiff have hosted Leeds for a match on a Sunday since winning 2-1 in an FA Cup tie at Ninian Park in January 2002 when Leeds were top of the Premier League.
- Leeds United have won each of their last five league games without conceding a single goal. The Whites have achieved this feat on four other previous occasions, most recently in December 2009 – they have never won six straight league games without conceding.
- Cardiff have picked up six draws in their last eight league games on home soil (W1 D1) – no side has drawn more home games in the Championship this season (8).
- Leeds have won more points from their last six games (16) than any other Championship team.
