Brentford 2-2 Blackburn

(video no longer available)

Brentford fought back from two down to salvage a point in a windswept 2-2 draw with Blackburn at Griffin Park.

An Adam Armstrong brace, one from the penalty spot, gave the visitors a two-goal cushion, but the Bees hit back with an Ollie Watkins strike and a Said Benrahma equaliser from the spot.

Rovers took the lead on 11 minutes when Armstrong coolly lobbed Bees keeper David Raya after latching onto a hopeful ball forward that caught on the wind and deceived Ethan Pinnock.

And he stretched the advantage after the break when Raya was harshly adjudged to have brought down John Buckley in the box, and he sent him the wrong way from the spot.

That goal sparked a fightback from the Bees who hit back on 62 minutes with the goal of the game, Watkins taking a drilled Henrik Dalsgaard through ball on his chest and smashing home unstoppable volley into the top corner.

Nine minutes later Brentford were level, Lewis Travis again harshly ruled to have tripped Mads Roerslev in the box, with Benrahma doing the honours from the spot.

Barnsley 1-0 Middlesbrough

(video no longer available)

Struggling Barnsley followed up their impressive victory at Fulham last week with a 1-0 win against Middlesbrough.

Conor Chaplin's second-half have Gerhard Struber's side a valuable three points against a Middlesbrough side hovering just above the relegation zone. The result means that Boro are now without a win in their last ten games in all competitions.

Chaplin scored at the second attempt in the 73rd minute, firing into the net after his shot on the turn inside the area saw the ball come back off the bar.

Woodgate made another substitution in a bid to spark his team into life, with Hayden Coulson taking over from Morrison.

Boro failed to pose a serious threat in the closing stages while Barnsley appeared content to see out the match, rarely venturing forward.

The visiting fans made their feelings clear as the manager and players made their way towards the tunnel, with chants of "you're not fit to wear the shirt" echoing around the stadium.

Birmingham 3-3 Sheffield Wednesday

(video no longer available)

Garry Monk buried the hatchet with Pep Clotet on his first return to St Andrew's since he was sacked as Birmingham manager as they shared the points in an entertaining 3-3 draw.

Wednesday manager Monk warmly embraced his successor Clotet less than three months after refusing to shake his former long-term assistant's hand before the 1-1 draw at Hillsborough, then they were deep in conversation after the final whistle.

The Owls twice trailed, to a Jacob Murphy own goal and Lukas Jutkiewicz's 13th of the season as Barry Bannan and Fernando Forestieri's penalty levelled before Murphy put them ahead in the 65th minute.

But Scott Hogan's fourth goal in five games earned Blues a deserved point in the first minute of time added on to extend Wednesday's run to one win in 11 in the Championship and stretch Blues' sequence to 10 without loss in all competitions and eight in the league.

The Owls have taken just six points out of 33, a run which has sent them drop from third to 12th since Christmas.

They also have a potential points deduction hanging over their heads after being charged by the EFL for allegedly breaking financial rules.

Bristol City 0-3 West Brom

(video no longer available)

Sky Bet Championship leaders West Brom cruised to a comprehensive 3-0 win at play-off hopefuls Bristol City despite Romaine Sawyers late red card.

Slaven Bilic's team took the lead in the 32nd minute when Callum Robinson was left unmarked into City's box and, although the advancing Daniel Bentley saved his initial shot, the ball rebounded off his face to beat the goalkeeper.

Four minutes later Bentley was at fault when he spilled a shot from Jake Livermore that he should have held and Hal Robson-Kanu was on hand to prod home from close range.

The game erupted after 75 minutes when Sawyers reacted angrily to being fouled by Jamie Paterson and appeared to grab the City substitute by the throat. After consulting an assistant, referee Darren England issued a straight red card.

Bilic remonstrated angrily at the decision but seconds later saw a weak header from Ashley Williams towards Bentley pounced upon by Robson-Kanu, who volleyed in his second to spark wild celebrations in the Albion dugout.

Charlton 3-1 Luton

(video no longer available)

Charlton put daylight between themselves and the relegation zone after running out 3-1 winners at home to Luton.

The three points put the south London side nine clear of Luton, who are rooted to the bottom of the Sky Bet Championship.

Lyle Taylor broke the deadlock in the 34th minute when he was able to turn and shoot past the outstretched arms of Sluga, for his 10th goal of the season.

However, the lead - and the joy of the Charlton fans - was short-lived. Two minutes after Taylor opened the scoring, Luton equalised when the home defence failed to clear the ball properly, allowing Cornick to fire home.

James Collins had the ball in the back of the net in the 51st minute but he was adjudged to be offside.

Charlton retook the lead just after the hour-mark with Taylor netting his second from the penalty spot, after Collins handled a George Lapslie shot.

The game was effectively sealed three minutes from time. Lapslie played a one-two with Macauley Bonne, who was able to cross the ball in low from the byline, before the former was able to tap in for his first league goal for Charlton and put the contest beyond doubt..

Leeds 1-0 Reading

(video no longer available)

Leeds took full advantage of slips by their promotion rivals with a 1-0 win over Reading.

Pablo Hernandez hit the winner in the second half to leave United five points clear of third-placed Fulham.

The visitors had successfully contained Leeds during a disciplined first-half defensive display. But the Yorkshireman cranked up the pressure at the start of the second half and deservedly hit the front when Hernandez coolly finished on 57 minutes.

The hosts had set a good early pace with Helder Costa dragging an effort wide from a narrow angle after four minutes.

Patrick Bamford failed to get on the end of Jack Harrison's cross, before Kalvin Phillips scuffed an effort at the keeper from just outside the box on 16 minutes.

Bamford fired a tame shot at Cabral on the turn a minute as Leeds cranked up the pressure.

And the dominance was finally rewarded when Hernandez guided an effort into the top corner after a rebound fell kindly.

Nottingham Forest 0-0 QPR

(video no longer available)

Mark Warburton returned to the City Ground to deliver a minor blow to Nottingham Forest's promotion push after his QPR side hung on for a 0-0 draw.

Forest had far more chances as they looked to keep pace with the automatic promotion spots and maintain their position in the top six of the Sky Bet Championship.

They failed to make their opportunities count, though, with the closest they came to a goal being when Joe Worrall had a header chalked off because the ball had been moving when Joe Lolley delivered a corner.

Lolley then planted a header wide in the dying seconds, as Forest missed one last chance to take all three points in a game they dominated.

Preston 2-1 Hull

(video no longer available)

Alan Browne's headed winner kept Preston in the play-off spots after coming from behind to defeat Hull.

Mallik Wilks gave Hull the lead just before half-time but Paul Gallagher's penalty levelled matters before Browne had the final say.

Hull had the wind and the better of the first half but despite their start they did not have a shot on target until Wilks fired a left-footed effort at Declan Rudd.

While North End grew into the first half in an attacking sense, their back line fell asleep just before the break.

A short corner routine, one that Hull had already tried before, ended with Callum Elder crossing for Wilks to nod in from close range.

Fisher would be involved in a key piece of action moments later. From the very first whistle he and Magennis had a titanic battle. Fisher came out on the right side of it just after the hour when the Hull man clumsily brought him down in the area.

The referee pointed to the spot and Gallagher powered the spot-kick home

The home side looked a different team and were soon ahead. Jayden Stockley crossed for Browne who headed the ball back the way it had come from and past Long.

Stoke 2-0 Cardiff

(video no longer available)

Former Swansea midfielder Joe Allen helped Stoke to a win over Cardiff, as the Bluebirds were defeated for just the third time in the Championship under boss Neil Harris as their play-off hopes suffered a severe blow.

The Bluebirds gifted Stoke the lead when Callum Paterson headed into his own net from a corner.

Wales midfielder Allen made the result safe when he scrambled the ball home from close range after Tyrese Campbell's initial effort was blocked.

The result lifts Stoke to 19th in the Championship while Cardiff slip to 10th, below their rivals Swansea and six points behind Preston in the final play-off berth.

Stoke City are now unbeaten in their last five home matches against Cardiff in all competitions since a 3-0 defeat in September 2005.

Swansea 3-1 Huddersfield

(video no longer available)

Swansea scored two late goals to get themselves back into play-off contention in the Sky Bet Championship with a 3-1 victory over Huddersfield.

Andre Ayew's first-half strike put the Welsh side ahead before Chris Willock levelled the scores 12 minutes from time.

However, Jay Fulton rose high to head the hosts back in front moments later, and they were able to relax in stoppage time when Jordon Garrick scored his second goal off the bench in a week.

It was Swansea's first win in six matches and moved them five points away from a top-six place ahead of Wednesday's trip to Fulham.

Swansea made the breakthrough after 28 minutes when Huddersfield goalkeeper Jonas Lossl palmed Kalulu's fired cross into the path of Ayew, who diverted into the bottom corner.

Having provided the opener, Kalulu almost netted a second two minutes into the second half when he raced in to meet Jake Bidwell's cross, but he sliced his shot a yard wide.

And they were made to pay as the visitors finally got back on level terms in the 78th minute when Jonathan Hogg worked the ball wide to Willock, who drove to the angle of the box and unleashed a pinpoint drive that hit the far post and went in.

However, it took just two minutes for the Swans to get back ahead and snatch the victory. Matt Grimes curled a corner across the six-yard box for Fulton to rise high and head the ball down and into the corner of the net.

And all three points were secured in the 90th minute thanks to substitute Garrick, who took the ball around Lossl and slotted home after being slipped in by Conor Gallagher to finish a rapid counter attack.

Wigan 1-0 Millwall

(video no longer available)

Wigan edged a scrappy Sky Bet Championship encounter against Millwall at the DW Stadium thanks to an own goal by Shaun Hutchinson just before the hour mark.

The defender turned Anthony Pilkington's cross into his own net for the only goal of a lively and sometimes controversial encounter.

The home side threatened with a deep cross from Pilkington, which was only just in front of a stretching Kieffer Moore.

A good move from Millwall got Mahlon Romeo away at the other end, only for Joe Williams to get a foot on the cross.

Millwall had a shout for a penalty when Ryan Woods was taken out by Nathan Byrne right on the edge of the area. Referee Jeremy Simpson awarded a free-kick but replays seemed to suggest the contact was inside.

There was controversy as Williams looked to handle on the edge of the Millwall box, only to be allowed to get his shot in, which clearly hit the hand of a defender. The official ignored both and play went on.

But Wigan got their own revenge when they went ahead 12 minutes after the restart. Good work from Jamal Lowe found Pilkington, whose cross-shot was helped home by a helpless Hutchinson.

With Wigan's tails up, Pilkington then sent in a free-kick from 30 yards which was brilliantly saved by Bartosz Bialkowski. From the corner, a scramble resulted in Leon Balogun steering his shot just wide.
