Get up to speed with all the major entries for the weekend including a fine turnout for the Middle Park Stakes which could see Earthlight, Mums Tipple and Siskin clash.
Big names in Middle Park mix
Pinatubo has set a stunning standard in the juvenile colts' division this season but this Saturday's Juddmonte Middle Park Stakes at Newmarket looks likely to unearth another future star with some big names set to clash.
Andre Fabre has two Middle Park wins on his resume but the Prix Morny winner Earthlight - the Godolphin silks of Pinatubo - will bid to give the French master his first win in the race since Zieten in 1992.
His form from Deauville has already worked out well with fifth home A'Ali winning the Flying Childers at Doncaster and Fabre is happy to stick to six furlongs for the time being with the son of Shamardal who he already considers a serious 2000 Guineas contender.
"Earthlight is in good shape, I am very happy with him. He's never had a setback and is an easy, sound horse," said Fabre.
"His Prix Morny victory has been highly rated, but the soft ground was a factor and may have changed things. He has won on fast and soft, so the ground is not a real concern for him.
"Earthlight is not the most balanced horse, he carries his head a bit low, so his ability to handle Newmarket's undulations will be something that we will have to discover on Saturday."
Standing in his way this weekend is the unbeaten Mums Tipple, who stepped up on his Ascot maiden defeat of subsequent dual scorer Molatham to run out an 11-length winner of the Goffs UK Premier Yearling Stakes at York's Ebor Festival.
His trainer Richard Hannon has also left in Champagne Stakes winner Threat.
Aidan O'Brien is responsible for four of the 13 possible entries with Lope Y Fernandez and Monarch Of Egypt joined by King Neptune and Pistoletto, but the main danger from Ireland looks to be posed by Ger Lyons' Siskin.
The son of First Defence took his record to a perfect four from four when beating Monarch Of Egypt in the Group One Keeneland Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh last month, where he proved his versatility with a soft ground success having won on a much quicker surface earlier in the campaign.
The others still in contention at this stage are Golden Horde, Dubai Station, Prince Of Naples, Spartan Fighter and Summer Sands.
Prize goes for Cheveley Park
Duchess Of Cambridge Stakes one-two Raffle Prize and Daahyeh feature among the 15 fillies in line for the Juddmonte Cheveley Park Stakes on the same Newmarket card.
Raffle Prize emerged on top that day by a length and three-quarters and Mark Johnston's daughter of Slade Power has since gone down fighting in France, missing out by a neck to Earthlight in the Prix Morny.
Daahyeh, who beat Raffle Prize in a Newmarket novice event back in the middle of May before winning the Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot and she pushed Love close in the Moyglare Stud Stakes at the Curragh over Longines Irish Champions Weekend.
Karl Burke's Sky Bet Lowther winner Living In The Past adds further strength to the home team along with Richard Hannon's Dark Lady, Richard Fahey's Moon Of Love and the Ed Walker-trained Nina Bailarina.
Walker said of his charge, who was second at Deauville when stepped up to Group Three company: "I confirmed her for the Cheveley Park and that's the plan. She ran great in France and I think she will come forward again."
Aidan O'Brien has four fillies in the picture with Tango, Precious Moments, Etoile and Blissful all entered, while Ger Lyons and Jessica Harrington are represented by Nurse Barbara and Millisle respectively.
Nurse Barbara has been supplemented into the race after being caught in the dying strides by Blissful in a Listed contest over seven furlongs at Leopardstown earlier this month.
Celtic Beauty from the Ken Condon yard and Sheila Lavery's Kil Grey could also run for Ireland.
The only French entry comes from Andre Fabre who is set to saddle Tropbeau, a daughter of Showcasing who has won her last three starts including the Group Two Prix du Calvados at Deauville last time out.
"Tropbeau is a sweet filly, a beautiful mover who gives everything, and she is going to run in theCheveley Park Stakes," said the French maestro.
"She has won a Group Two and I don't really like running young horses with a penalty, so this step up to Group One company is a natural progression for her."
Armory given Royal Lodge option
Aidan O'Brien has won the Juddmonte Royal Lodge Stakes six times in the past and looks to hold a strong hand this weekend headed by National Stakes runner-up Armory.
He came up nine lengths short of matching Pinatubo at the Curragh but remains a colt of significant potential and could look to return to winning ways this weekend at headquarters.
He's joined by stablemates Arthur's Kingdom, Iberia, Innisfree, Louisiana, Persia, Royal Dornoch and Year Of The Tiger in the Group Two contest over one mile.
Highland Chief for Paul Cole and Surf Dancer for William Haggas could put up most resistance for the home team though Charlie Hills has entered Persuasion and Saeed bin Suroor could run once-raced July Course maiden winner Military March, a son of New Approach.
The entries are completed by Kameko (Andrew Balding), Sound Of Cannons (Brian Meehan), Ropey Guest (George Margarson) and Pyledriver (William Muir).
Muir said: "I mentioned the Doncaster race (Vertem Futurity Trophy) straight after Haydock as it can be a small field, but it's a long way off still and they can go over the top.
"He's in very good shape at home and we decided we'll look at the Royal Lodge and the Autumn Stakes and see where we go. He's got to take another step forward as he couldn't have won any easier last time.
"PJ (McDonald) jumped off him and said the feel he gave him between the three and the one-pole was that of a very good horse. He's exciting.
"At Newbury the ground was very sticky. It was heavy ground on the Friday then it dried. They went so slow that day, then sprinted and this horse will definitely get a trip."
