RACING
Division two of the Market Cross Jewellers Handicap wouldn’t be the highest-profile race on Saturday but RUM RUNNER rates as one of the day’s best bets.
The five-year-old goes particularly well at this track and very much caught the eye here last time when short of room before finishing strongly to take third in an 0-80 contest last month. He drops down into a 0-70 from an unchanged mark here and with conditions to suit, will take plenty of beating.
Arc de Triomphe preview
Even without Love, Sunday's Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe looks set to be a classic. We have every angle of the race covered, including our horse by horse guide.
FOOTBALL
7/5 on a shot on target for someone playing as a striker is big. Against Manchester United Palace had 14 total shots of which Zaha contributed four. Two of them found the net and we can't completely disregard his best odds of 4/1 for a goal anytime if we're searching for a goalscorer bet in the contest.
This is a Chelsea side who have conceded an average of 13.3 shots per game in the Premier League this season.
As outlined in our midweek Punting Pointers, Leeds lead the Premier League in tackles by a significant margin. They average a total of 23 per game but had 34 successful tackles in that opener against Liverpool.
Right-back Luke Ayling has made four in his last two games and had six successful ones against Liverpool.
On to Sunday....
It really is a Super Sunday before the international break with six top-flight matches. They include Manchester United against Tottenham as Jose Mourinho returns to Old Trafford. We preview and tip up every game here.
TENNIS
Andy Schooler - French Open Saturday tips
Even in these slow conditions, Fucsovics’ ability to hit hard and flat should take some time away from Monteiro and he doesn’t like to be rushed.
I’m surprised Fucsovics isn’t shorter than his 4/9 quotes but the way to go looks to be to back him giving up a 3.5-game start.
The Hungarian, who made the fourth round of the Australian Open, has won plenty of matches this year and even on Monteiro’s favourite surface, he should prove too good by a wide-enough margin.
UFC
William Dean - UFC Fight Night prelims
Irene Aldana to beat Holly Holm, as at 39-years-old Holm's reaction speed and ability to slip shots isn’t what it once was. On top of this, Holm’s ground game has always been one of her biggest weaknesses and this is where Aldana will punish her, with a takedown accuracy rate of 50%.
Julianna Pena to defeat Germaine de Randamie due to her takedown game, as long as she can avoid de Randamie’s kickboxing strikes.
Kieran Cobley - UFC Fight Night main card
Cameron Else is a recent signing who has been waiting in the wings as a short notice replacement, and will not be fully prepared for what Kyler Phillips will bring. Given the intense pace he fights at, Else certainly does not have the cardio to fight competitively for 15 minutes, while Phillips has an almost inhuman gas tank.
NFL
Super Bowl champions the Kansas City Chiefs are backed to see-off the New England Patriots in what could be a game that sees one NFL dynasty replaced with a new one. The Dallas Cowboys have the top passer in the league in Dak Prescott and should have too much for the Cleveland Browns while the Buffalo Bills look the real deal and should show it in Las Vegas against the Raiders.
Touchdown value bets
Russell Wilson has gone wild this season, with 14 touchdowns through three games. He could throw 46 interceptions in his next 46 pass attempts and STILL have a better QB rating than Carson Wentz – yes you read that correctly.
Lockett & Metcalf are feasting in this offence, and this week they’re up against the eighth-worst team in the league to wide receivers in the Dolphins. The duo look certain to score every week, but the brace offers value – especially when considering Lockett is fresh off a hat-trick and a DK fumble cost him a brace last week. Pick your poison here, but Metcalf’s higher price and big play potential stands out to me.
