BORGI - 16:15 Lingfield (NAP)
BORGI is taken to land the BetMGM Supports Safer Gambling Handicap at Lingfield. Lexington Jet and Dancing Terror should help set a decent pace here and that will suit Sean Woods' horse, who was quite strong on the market (9/2 co-favourite) on his return from a 55-day break at Wolverhampton late last month. He ended up seventh that night, comfortably behind the reopposing winner Hitched and runner-up Farasi Lane, but he was forced wide on the bend and just looked a shade rusty. Eased another 2lb to a mark of 78, he's now 8lb lower than when last successful (Newcastle, July 2024) and he's got good placed form around here off higher marks too.
ASK PETER - 14:15 Taunton
Anthony Honeyball's horses have been holding their form pretty well all season and there's every reason to expect a bit more to come from ASK PETER. The daughter of Jukebox Jury was no great shakes on the Flat and hasn't ripped up any trees in this sphere yet either but she shaped well when third - beaten two lengths - on hurdling debut at Ludlow in October and was at a similar sort of level when filling the same place on handicap debut here at Taunton last week. Her 10lb claiming rider might just look to hang onto her a shade longer on this occasion but there are races to be won and she clearly copes with soft ground. Any improvement on the last run brings her right into the reckoning despite facing three last-time-out winners in this low-grade affair.
NO TACKLE - 15:50 Leicester
The ground will be near-bottomless at Leicester if racing goes ahead on Thursday and we know NO TACKLE should be able to cope with conditions having won on deep going at Lingfield in the past. He's also got a couple of course victories on the CV, one coming at this time last year, and the nine-year-old has held his form quite well this winter despite going up the weights for his win in November. He's a stout stayer over this sort of trip and might be able to make the best of his way home under a front-running ride from Liam Harrison.
TRYFAN - 18:30 Chelmsford
TRYFAN has always had plenty of ability and while he's got his quirks to go along with it, he looks the sort that Harry Charlton will be able to extract a bit more improvement this year. He was back from a short break when pitched into a strong two-mile event at Newcastle last month but he played up quite badly at the start so it's probably an effort we can safely ignore from a pure form perspective. If he's back on his best behaviour, the five-year-old could prove a different class in this 0-85 company and given his occasional keenness the drop back to a mile and three-quarters is no bad thing.
