Fujaira Prince ran out an impressive winner of the Sky Bet Ebor as a brilliant week at the Welcome To Yorkshire Ebor Festival drew to a close on Saturday.
All times BST, please refresh for updates
1718: We bow out from Welcome To Yorkshire Ebor Festival week with a thrilling finish and a winning favourite.
I hope you've enjoyed all of the action and, perhaps, found the odd winner along the way too.
For now, it's goodbye from me.
1715: Electric Ladyland had to be driven furiously from the off and was never happy.
There were no such problems for Wonderwork who travelled very smoothly but was reeled in inside the furlong as Illusionist and Live In The Moment pass the post together.
PHOTO FINISH.
I've no idea who won that, Racing TV are suggesting that it's Live In The Moment under the excellent Georgia Dobie and that result has been confirmed.
1709: I'm a little surprised how easy Meraas has been to back as he hasn't looked short of pace over six furlongs and has been very impressive of late.
The runners are yet to go behind, I think we may be waiting for a race at Killarney to conclude.
Live In The Moment is the new favourite as Martin Dixon gives a vote of confidence to Sampers Seven despite some misgivings about the ground. It has been dry for the last couple of hours at York and there is a strong wind blowing.
Electric Ladyland is another attracting market interest and this is shaping up to be quite a competitive betting heat.
They're loading.
1704: The last race at York and our last race of the day on the blog fast approaches and Meraas is the 3/1 favourite following that fine run in the Stewards' Cup.
There's been some support at prices for Sunday Sovereign but Live In The Moment is the 10/3 second favourite.
It's an apprentices' handicap and Fallon is a good booking for impressive course winner Sampers Seven but she was a non-runner here earlier in the week.
Illusionist is attracting some support on his first start since a wind operation and the front-running Never Dark is not without his supporters either.
1700: Away on time at Sandown.
Gas Monkey will have to pass the whole field to win.
Clem A hit the rail on the bend and caused a little bit of trouble as a result.
Andaleep (4/1) wins quite easily for William Carver and Graeme McPherson. Gas Monkey is a never nearer second.
1659: Some reaction from Roger Varian to Fujaira Prince's victory in the Sky Bet Ebor and it doesn't sound as though a trip to Australia is in the offing.
"The expression ‘made of glass’ would really apply to this guy. We space his races out and the biggest number of races he has ever had in a season is the three he had last year. We’ll try to match that this year, but I’m not sure if he is a Melbourne Cup horse.
"We obviously like the idea, and we’ll see what Sheikh Mohammed Obaid wants to do, but I think we could freshen him up and maybe look at the stayers’ race on Champions Day. Having said that, you can’t take anything for granted with this horse."
1656: We've got one more to come from each of Sandown and York with the former up next.
Neither race was high on the form study list last night but there are plenty of familiar names in both races, particularly Sandown where Gas Monkey is the favourite.
He was well backed at Newbury a week ago and narrowly failed to land a decent gamble.
1649: The power issues have been sorted at Chelmsford and they're at the start for the delayed 1620.
It's a winner for Mark Johnston and Franny Norton as Salsoul (9/1) beats Temple Bruer et al.
She was well beaten in a nursery won by......Acklam Express last time.
1647: Ontario looked for a long way as though he was going to do enough but he was swamped close home as Mac Swiney (28/1) just gets the better of Cadillac.
Jim Bolger won this race with Teofilo and New Approach. Could this fellow be as good?
He was well beaten in the Tyros Stakes last time but had been talked about as a Derby horse after winning his maiden.
Cadillac was having only his second start and didn't lose too much in defeat on the testing ground.
1644: Lucander takes the spoils.
Sky Defender, Fifth Position and Value Bet selection Cockalorum were a couple of lengths behind.
The winner, trained by Ralph Beckett and ridden by Harry Bentley, was returned at 10/1. Sky Defender and Fifth Position confirmed in second and third.
It's the Group Two Futurity Stakes at the Curragh with Cadillac the odds-on favourite.
Good wheels?
Aidan O'Brien has won this race 15 times, including the last five but the favourite is with Jessica Harrington.
1637: Value Bet picked out one at a price here which is very much the name of that game but rather boringly, my focus was on the market leaders with Cape Cavalli marginally preferred.
He was behind Maydanny last time but didn't enjoy the run of the race at all; he won his previous start over this course and distance and can reverse the form back at this more conventional venue.
1635: Most of the jockeys are in the saddle ahead of the Sky Bet Handicap at York where there is a positive move for Cape Cavalli.
Derevo was a morning mover and impressive last time out winner Maydanny is also understandably popular although we have lost Sinjaari from the top of the betting.
1632: Experience played a big role in the maiden with Queen of Kingman missing a beat at the start. She shaped well but was no match for Creative Flair and Statement with the former prevailing.
Samoot ran on beautifully to edge out Babindi for third.
The front two had that race between them throughout.
1628: Samoot looks the part according to Rishi Persad but her 33/1 odds suggest that not too much is expected of her here.
Result stands at York.
Creative Flair is another that caught Rishi's eye and she has the benefit of a run under her belt. Money continues to come for Queen of Kingman with the favourite easy to back on the exchanges.
1624: There has been a half hour delay at Chelmsford City with 1650 the new scheduled off-time for the meeting.
The delay is due to power issues which they are looking into.
Apparently they hope to catch up on the timings which will keep you on your toes if you are betting race by race.
1621: Right. Where next?
The Premier Handicap at the Curragh has just been run so it's off to Sandown for calmer waters.
It's a seven furlong maiden and a race that is full of plenty of interest. Hot favourite Statement and the very easy to back Bibindi both shaped conspicuously well at Newmarket in what appeared to be a decent race but there's been interest in Creative Flair, a once raced Godolphin filly, and John Gosden newcomer Queen Of Kingman.
I think there's more to this race than might initially meet the eye.
1616: He was rated just 77 when winning at Goodwood (92 here), no wonder he was backed off the boards that day.
They knew.
Tom Marquand doesn't believe that he'll be affected by the Stewards' Enquiry that has just been called and says: "That was an extremely tough performance. He's certainly a nice little horse to play with."
Mamba Wamba may have lost out in the scrimmaging but who caused it, I'm not sure.
1614: Victory goes the way of Acklam Express (10/3 favourite) who proved terrifically game.
Second was Queen Of Rio (50/1) and tight for third as the four to fight out the finish came very close together.
Always to the fore, the winner saw off the challenge of Ben Macdui but then had to dig really, really deep in order to prevail.
1610: Lauded was also in action at Goodwood, finishing third over six furlongs and he drops in trip and grade.
He showed plenty of speed in the Richmond Stakes and may benefit from the trip but it remains to be seen whether this Listed race does really represent a drop in class, there are plenty of promising individuals in the line-up.
1603: The Julia Grave Roses Stakes boasts a well backed favourite in Acklam Express who landed a punt in a nursery last time.
The weight of the support has seen him usurp Ben Macdui, a fine second to Steel Bull at Goodwood, at the top of the betting which is a little surprising but the Nigel Tinkler yard clearly have high hopes that their charge is progressive.
Winter Power flopped in a nursery at the same meeting but had impressed prior to that and has been backed down to 5s from double figures.
1600: Chloellie (7/1) denies Dream World at Sandown with Saucy Encore and Front Of Line in a photo for third.
Saucy Encore has been confirmed as third.
1555: Pretty Gorgeous has been propelled to the fore of the 1000 Guineas betting and she can be backed at a best of 20/1.
They're a little behind time at Sandown with the clock at 1557 and counting.
1553: Entries for the Melbourne Cup close on Thursday and Greg Carpenter is hopeful that Fujaira Prince will make the journey, he certainly looks the right type for the race.
He's been quoted at 20/1 for that contets by Paddy Power and Betfair.
At Sandown money continues to come for Foxy Femme who is now the 9/2 second favourite from an initial 12/1.
1547: They're racing for the Debutante Stakes at the Curragh, a Group Two fillies' contest over seven furlongs.
Alpine Star and Magical are recent winners and Pretty Gorgeous adds her name to the roll of honour.
A winner for Joseph O'Brien and Shane Crosse and a headline selection for Fran Berry.
1545: The well backed 11/2 favourite Fujaira Prince wins impressively and that was as straightforward as you could wish for in a race of this nature.
Glencadam Glory was game and probably only half a length down at the line but I never felt as though he was going to get back past.
1542: They're off and racing for the 2020 renewal of the Sky Bet Ebor.
Dash Of Spice and Fujaira Prince are prominent but Glencadam Glory leads.
Ranch Hand is prominent too, in company with King's Advice.
They're past halfway.
Alright Sunshine is wide in about eighth, Trueshaan just behind. They fan across the track in the straight.
Scarlet Dragon gets a great run against the rail and seemingly goes well but weakens.
It's Fujaira Prince.
Glencadam Glory in second, Verdana Blue and Monica Sheriff.
1537: There's an amended result at Sandown with Matthew Flinders demoted to fourth.
1535: The large field is beginning to gather down at the start at York where it looks as though the sun has deigned to come out.
Martin Dixon is expecting a big run from Trueshaan while conceding that the handicapper could have hit Fujaira Prince harder for his victory at Newmarket.
Pondus is a big runner for Joseph O'Brien and don't forget True Self who finished in midfield last season. The former was really well regarded last season and while he didn't quite hit the hoped for heights, he still performed with credit and doesn't have many miles on the clock.
1530: Amid all the excitement, I forgot to watch Deauville where Fev Rover has won the Group Two Shadwell Prix du Calvados for Christophe Soumillon and Richard Fahey.
1528: There are obviously any number in with chances but I would be keen enough to believe that the ground has gone against Verdana Blue and I'm happy enough to put a line through the 8/1 chance.
Conditions will be no problem for Monica Sheriff who makes her seasonal reappearance and is only 9/1 as Danny Tudhope looks to maintain his impressive strike rate for William Haggas.
1525: It's time for the Sky Bet Ebor and what a race this is.
1523: They did come close together at Sandown, a typical finish at the Esher venue in many respects. I didn't see anything too untoward and, apparently, it doesn't involve the winner. Here's the replay.
The head on shows that Matthew Flinders took Zegalo across the course with him towards the other pair and that could be what they're looking at.
1518: First Winter possibly beats Value Bet selection Raaeq at Sandown. It's been called. He wins under James Doyle at 11/2. Matthew Flinders involved in the finish too; he was keen, green and stuck out wide. Zegalo was the other horse involved in the battle for the minors.
The winner was always in the vanguard at Sandown which is always a good place to be.
Places are confirmed with Raaeq and Matthew Flinders filling the minor medal positions but there is a STEWARDS' ENQUIRY.
1515: John Quinn: "He looks like he could win a Group One somewhere. He's an amazing horse, all he's done is improve. Jason rode him really well, we're very pleased."
The QEII at Ascot is next for Safe Voyage and he's getting quotes of around 14/1.
1512: Make A Challenge wins unchallenged at the Curragh and is returned at 9/4 for Joe Doyle and Denis Hogan. That was very, very easy.
1510: They're milling about at the start in Ireland where Speak In Colours is favourite.
There's a rather more open market at Sandown where a number of the field have attracted support. Matthew Flinders has retained favouritism but Cemhaan and First Winter are emerging as threats.
Aside from the favourite, I'll be keeping a close eye on With Respect, Raaeq and Pride Of America who contested the Lingfield Derby Trial two starts ago, I think the latter could well outrun his odds. He is out to 40/1 from 25s thought so, er.....
1507: Jason Hart: "A big favourite. When you get those ground conditions, he's different class. My boy stays the seven very well. I said to the boss beforehand, it might be an idea to make plenty of use of him. It's my biggest winner to date."
1505: There are quickfire races approaching with a Listed sprint at the Curragh (1510) and the well touted Matthew Flinders at Sandown (1515).
Don't draw breath.
1502: The Sky Bet City of York Stakes was run in 'deteriorating conditions'.
The field came over to the stands again and One Master had to switch course as she was held in. There were no such problems for Safe Voyage at the head of affairs and he kicked clear to win decisively from the favourite.
Always travelling noticeably well in the hands of Jason Hart, it was impressive how far clear he kicked in the final half a furlong. Queen Jo Jo, who also raced prominently, finished third with the front three clear of the field who were led by Threat and Beat Le Bon.
The winner was returned at 4/1 in a time of 1.25.47.
1459: Things haven't clicked for Beat Le Bon or Threat this season but the former showed a little more at Salisbury last time in a race that may not have been that strong for the grade, he does have a turn of foot and last season promised so much more than he's delivered since.
Threat won last year's Gimcrack and has run in the Guineas and the July Cup this season; this represents a 'back to the drawing board' test. The pair are both 8/1 with plenty of support for Beat Le Bon from 14s.
1455: One Master is 6/4 but I don't think you could be too surprised if any of the likes of Safe Voyage, Escobar and San Donato popped up.
All three have more than enough form to their names to entitle them to win this if the favourite fails to fire. These underfoot conditions should be ideal for her, conditions came very close to not chancing their arm at Goodwood.
I'm a bit late to the party here but last year's winner Shine So Bright is a notable non-runner and could change the race tactically as he would have been guaranteed to have made the running.
1452: There's been another winner for Aidan O'Brien at the Curragh and they're racing in France.
At York, there will be plenty of people hoping that One Master can follow up her impressive win at Glorious Goodwood. There's no doubt that this is tougher but she is still the class act in the field.
Victory in France goes to German raider Thorin from Tammani - trained by William Haggas - and Kenway.
1447: If you were on that gamble you must be absolutely buzzing right now. They're great when they win like that, less so when they don't get up.
Group Three action due off at Deauville shortly with plenty of UK interest.
1444: Dean Street Doll burst through from nowhere to land the gamble!
What a ride that was. What a finish. So many in with chances in the final furlong.
Gin Palace was collared on the line, the third, Escape The City, also came from nowhere, weaving through the field and is probably a little unlucky, Maronnier was snatched up and denied room when he needed it most.
1436: More action from Sandown around the corner with a very open mile handicap.
Dean Street Doll is among the leading fancies having been backed down from 12/1. She has form over further than a mile and that stamina will stand her in good stead if the previous race was anything to go by.
They're at the start.
Marronier is another notable gamble from a double figure price, he represents the shrewd Stuart Williams stable and Rishi Persad believes he's 'open to a fair bit of improvement'.
River Dawn for me if I had to but I don't and haven't.
1434: Oisin Murphy: "Really pleased for everyone. His owners are top supporters for the yard. He's progressive and he's going to go the right way for a while yet. I think this horse can go to a high level.
"It rode soft. It's taken a fair bit of hammer. I haven't seen the times but I imagine they're slow."
1429: A number of this field were quite hard at work at the top of the straight but the field did bunch up approaching the two furlong as the pace collapsed.
Arthurian Fable was always to the fore but he proved no match for Coltrane who drifted across to the rail but stayed on stoutly from the gambled on second. Kipps was a never nearer third. Tight fourth.
Apparently it's taken Oisin Murphy an awful lot of time to pull the winner up suggesting he's laden with stamina and it's notable that it was his stablemate, Punctuation, who set that decent gallop. A cunning plan coming together perhaps?
The winner was returned at 12/1.
1425: We're at post time but there's still around half of the field to load.
They should go in fairly quickly though and we shouldn't be long.
1420: Fishable was one of the last to leave the paddock and was rather on his toes according to Lydia Hislop, he's an 18/1 chance.
Confirmation from the Strensall Stakes that, very sadly, Miss O'Connor did lose her life after going wrong in the home straight. An unpleasant start to the day.
The same owners are represented by One Master in the Sky Bet City of York Stakes and there will be a lot of goodwill going out to her.
1414: They're in the paddock for the Sky Bet Melrose Stakes, a superb and ridiculously competitive handicap but there does seem to be plenty of confidence behind favourite Favorite Moon.
Kipps looked very much a horse to follow ever since his debut but he's rather flattered to deceive so far this season. He's still got his supporters and it would be no great surprise were he to put it all together.
A number of these are continuing to attract support, including my fancy Arthurian Fable.
Beringer never landed a blow in the first for Alan King and he will be hoping for better from Midnights Legacy who has won both starts this season. He's by the remarkable Midnight Legend, sire of Sizing John among others.
1410: That looked pretty hard work at Sandown.
Kingbrook ran a blinder on debut for Ian Williams, finishing third at a big price.
Not too many of those managed to land a blow there and Brilliant Light took a lot of rousting to pick up. There will be other days for New Chapter who finished fourth.
Brilliant Light has been confirmed the winner.
1407: Balzac is proving reluctant at Sandown and Richard Kingscote has dismounted. He may not have too many more chances with only two others waiting to load.
Dave Nevison calls Cozzone 'probably the best backed horse in England' today and if he is to win, Balzac won't have been among the beaten horses.
Tenbury Wells made the best of his way home from a prominent pitch but he was joined on the line by Brilliant Light.
PHOTO!
1404: It may come as no surprise to learn that Aidan O'Brien won the opening maiden at the Curragh but it was with 7/1 shot High Definition who asserted close home, beating stablemate and 5/2 favourite Wordsworth.
1359: The Sporting Life nap is among the runners for the 1405 at Sandown, a cracking three-year-old handicap, typically featuring a number of unexposed horses.
Tell Me All is the horse in question and it's intriguing to see Luke Morris in action there rather than riding Bodyline in the Melrose at York.
Luigi Vampa has been on my radar for a little while now and I'd be hopeful that he can show a little more, he hasn't had much luck of late, but this looks a bit warm for me.
1356: A word or two from Hollie Doyle: "I've never ridden a winner at the York Ebor Festival. He thrives on the ground. He's tough as old boots. It is soft ground."
1355: The card at the Curragh gets underway in a few minutes time and there's plenty of interest.
1352: They came across to the stands' side, led by Miss O'Connor (who sadly went badly wrong), and it was the closers who dominated as Certain Lad collared Epic Hero to score for Hollie Doyle and Mick Channon.
Lord Glitters stayed on into third but made quite hard work of getting there.
The winner was returned at 10/1.
1349: There was only a neck between Dark Vision and Beringer at Pontefract but there's a surprising disparity in their prices here with the pair 11/2 and 10/1.
The latter is trained by Alan King who has several fancied runners on the card at York.
1342: We're building up to the opening contest at York where it's 10/3 the field for the Sky Bet Strensall Stakes and the favourite is Lord Glitters.
He's going early to post.
Lord Glitters ran well over a furlong further in the Sky Bet York Stakes last time and seems to have retained a large share of the ability that saw him win the Queen Anne Stakes last year.
He may be on the downgrade now but Pogo is on the up and acquitted himself well in a French Group One last time but he does have something to prove at this trip. Lydia Hislop believes that he 'looks really fit and well' but she is also taken by Dark Vision who 'looks magnificent'.
1339: She was a short price and cruised into contention but Tawkeel had to battle to see off Tickle Me Green and Alkandora but she proved very game and retains her unbeaten record at Deauville.
She'll surely be in action at Longchamp during Arc weekend.
1333: There's a photo for the minors but they didn't see which way Spoof went as he collects for Charlie Hills and Kieren Shoemark to justify favouritism.
Tom Tulliver and Zapper Class are confirmed as second and third with Doc Sportello just missing out.
1330: Pat Cosgrave has missed his rides at Sandown due to a change in travel plans due to Covid-19 apparently.
They're loading for a sprint handicap where Spoof is the market leaders. I think he carries the same colours as Pogo who is off at York shortly.
1320: There's been a going change at York where Anthea Morshead has changed conditions to good to soft all over. Tom Eaves has told Nick Luck that he didn't think it was too bad but it might look worse than it is.
1319: There's been a winner for Golden Horn.
Over hurdles at Uttoxeter. It didn't go according to plan for Topkapi Star when she was with Roger Varian but she's made a winning debut over obstacles and perhaps this new discipline will be the making of her.
1314: I knew there was something missing!
It's Frankie Dettori who is, of course, riding at Deauville where the likes of Richard Fahey, Charlie Appleby and Roger Varian are among those with runners.
There are three Group races and Tawleel is a hot favourite for the first of them. She's in the betting with two firms for the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe and one layer has pre-empted the outcome seemingly as she's priced up at 12s and 33s according to one odds comparison website.
1300: It's a big day for William Haggas, I suppose a lot of them are, and it's got off to a winning start with Royal Address who picked up takingly on her third start to record an easy success at Sandown.
There was some late support too as she was returned the 5/2 joint-favourite.
1:03:08 was the winning time.
1256: I quite liked one at Sandown later on the card but there was another filly in the same race that I also considered backing and the market is suggesting that the pin fell on the wrong one. Why didn't I back them both? There's only so many bets you can have.
Front Of Line was where my money landed but the real money appears to be for Foxy Femme who has halved in price from 12/1 and her Cotswolds based trainer John Gallagher has a pretty good course record.
1252: David Ord has been doing sterling service at York through the week and reports that 'it's been tanking it down and has been for 30 minutes or so'.
I'll try and pick up any ground updates as they come but that may not be until after the opener.
The bell has rung for jockeys to mount ahead of the first at Sandown.
City Code and Aussie Stormer are joint-favourites.
This race features Charlie Fellowes who is trained by George Scott while Charlie Fellowes also trains a horse called George Scott. Both (horses) have been gelded. What larks....
The going has been described as 'on the easy side of good' and there is a strong breeze.
1248: There are two non-runners in the closing apprentice handicap but they don't include Sampers Seven who was, herself, a non-runner at York on Wednesday. The booking of Cieren Fallon very much takes the eye but Meraas very much sets the standard following a fine sixth in the Stewards' Cup.
1245: It doesn't get any easier towards the backend of the York card with all 17 runners still standing their ground for the Sky Bet Handicap at 1640.
Derevo is a market mover for the sponsors but I was rather underwhelmed by him at Goodwood (the pocket talks) and I was much more interested in the very obvious claims of Sinjaari and Cape Cavalli.
1242: Bit On The Side (6/5) has denied Miss Farage in the first at Uttoxeter and it's only 15 minutes until the opening nursery at Sandown where City Code has proved popular.
1236: Mr Murphy gave a good word for Acklam Express in his Glorious Goodwood column and the juvenile fairly dotted up in a nursery. He's been well backed to make the step up to pattern company in the Julia Graves Roses Stakes (in which Murphy rides Politics) but Ben Macdui sets a decent standard after his own run in Sussex and I'm a fan.
Mark Howard is focusing on Politics and Winter Power who flopped at Goodwood but was backed as though defeat was out of the question.
Michael Shinners is back on Racing TV covering some market movers and Winter Power is 15/2 from 12s. It's still raining at York apparently.
1232: Rishi Persad has just been providing a brief Sandown preview for Racing TV and signed off with words to the effect of, 'if Matthew Flinders doesn't win, I'll have had a bad day'.
That is particularly interesting for Sporting Life followers as this horse was flagged up earlier this week in Oisin Murphy's column. Were you on at the fancy early prices?
1225: The feature is at 1540 and I was almost talking myself into backing Jeremiah but his stamina is far from proven and even his trainer doesn't seem convinced that he'll stay.
I do like the chances of Value Bet selection Alright Sunshine at a big price though. It slightly put me off that Danny Tudhope was riding Monica Sheriff rather than the five-year-old he's partnered on five of his nine flat starts but perhaps he didn't have the choice.
There was a long short-list naturally but the other runner that was firmly on the radar was Dash Of Spice. I know this is a huge prize but he was a non-runner yesterday when faced with a much easier opportunity and the booking of Cieren Fallon is a big plus for me.
I'm tempted with plenty of extra place terms on offer.
1221: The conditions at York have just been described as being 'like a monsoon'.
Hopefully, just a passing shower.
1208: The Sky Bet City of York Stakes would appear to be a good opportunity for One Master but there's still plenty of intrigue with smart juvenile Threat looking to get his three-year-old season back on track, veteran sprinter Brando stepping up in trip and the Lennox Stakes third and fourth lining up; form that was boosted emphatically by the winner in France.
San Donato was also in action at Goodwood and looked to be travelling very well indeed at one point in the Sussex, he could appreciate this shorter trip while Shine So Bright won this race last year and is a double figure price.
William Haggas talks about One Master at around 11 minutes in while Strensall Stakes runner Miss O Connor gets a mention just after seven minutes.
1201: I read a preview of the Sky Bet Melrose last night which mentioned that every single horse in the line-up posted a career best performance last time out.
That is a truly remarkable statistic for all that this is one of the most competitive three-year-old handicaps and that we're in a truncated season to boot.
In a nutshell, it highlights how difficult this race will be to win but there's no fun in sitting on the fence and I think this year's renewal could be the stuff of legend......or fable.......Arthurian Fable to be precise.
He wouldn't be anymore than an each-way fancy but it was encouraging to see him feature in the market movers this morning. I liked his run at Royal Ascot behind Hukum and he relished the step up to this trip at Sandown last time.
1155: It's a little under two hours until the first at York though and that race is the Sky Bet and Symphony Group Strensall Stakes.
It's 7/2 the field and, at first glance, appears to represent a decent opportunity for Lord Glitters who won this race in 2018. He is seven years of age and although it's not unheard of for a 'veteran' to win this prize (2013 winner City Style was the same age), he does face some potentially progressive rivals.
Beringer and Dark Vision have met before and come into the race in fine form while Pogo is in the best vein of form of his career.
Three trainers have shared out the last seven renewals and only one of them has a runner; that trainer is David O'Meara and the horse is Lord Glitters.
1153: We're underway 40 minutes away from the first race at Uttoxeter which gets the UK action off to a start.
1138: Mr Shinners is now talking to Stewart Machin on Racing TV who have just shown their Sky Bet Ebor Legends, it's all a bit of fun.
Michael reveals that the Ebor market has been volatile but that Trueshan is the latest significant mover in the valuable handicap.
1131: Not content with just trying to tip winners, it appears that David Ord and Michael Shinners are having a crack at forecasting the weather too....there's nothing like a bit of diversification.
1126: New Chapter doesn't feature in either of those lists but rates a mention as there's been decent support for the William Haggas trained son of Invincible Spirit at 1405 where he goes up against the Sporting Life Nap of the Day.
He's ridden by James Doyle who is also aboard Front Of Line (a Paddy Power mover) and Doc Sportello who is 6/1 from 10s at 1330. It could be a profitable day for fans of the jockey who has a strong book of rides at the Esher track.
Dean Street Doll, another Holt selection, is another for money as the ex-Irish filly bids to open her account for David Menuisier; she's got some talent.
1116: We've also got some market movers for you from Betfair Sportsbook and it all bodes well for Simon Holt as two of his selections figure in both lists.
York
1350 Pogo 4/1 from 6/1
1425 Arthurian Fable is 14/1 from 18/1
1500 Threat is 15/2 from 8/1
1540 Ghostwatch is 17/2 from 14/1 & Trueshan is 6/1 from 15/2
1610 Winter Power is 15/2 from 16/1
1640 Derevo 5/1 from 15/2
1106: Here are today's offers and market movers from Paddy Power.

1053: One of the key early movers today has been Fujaira Prince in the Sky Bet Ebor and Andrea Atzeni is looking forward to the ride.
1050: The Curragh stages the Futurity and Debutante Stakes today and who better to talk you through the card than Fran Berry....
1045: The ITV7 was won by rather a lot of people yesterday resulting in a dividend to match but I imagine that anyone who manages the same today will be picking up rather more.
1038: This is a 2019 extract from Australian racing website racing.com.
"The Ebor Handicap may as well be renamed the Melbourne Cup Prelude. Held around the other side of the world over 2787 metres at York, its relevance to the first Tuesday in November has grown. The winner of the Ebor on Saturday is more likely than not to travel to Australia for Melbourne Cup."
If you fancy a little ante-post tickle, you can back Pondus at 50/1 and Fujaira Prince at 40/1 to name but two. Of course, it remains to be seen if anyone can travel anywhere by then but it's nice to dream and there is increased focus on the race in Australia which can only be good news.
1031: There is plenty of fresh ground at York (as detailed below) with the rails being moved by 10 metres which has increased the distance for the Sky Bet Ebor (plus Melrose and the 1640) by 32 yards.
By such small margins are races won and lost.
1025: Yesterday was a pretty decent one for Jim Crowley who mentioned in his post-race Nunthorpe interview that he was wearing a helmet camera and here is that footage.
1020: Good morning and welcome to a glorious Saturday.
The card at York is as competitive as you could wish to see and there's no shortage of opportunity; landing on a winner or two might be somewhat harder though.
ITV Racing are covering four races from Sandown Park and some of the handicaps there look devilishly difficult but that makes it all the more fun. Plus there's some quality action from the Curragh and competitive jumping at Uttoxeter. Have I missed anything? Possibly.
I expect you're all up to speed, if not ahead of the game, but just a reminder of our handy links to non-runners and going.
