A fairly modest bunch, the majority of whom are exposed and struggling to find much in the way of form, means it’s the two unexposed runners from big yards that most catch the eye.
Olly Murphy’s top weight Kenzoko caught the eye at Uttoxeter last time out when staying on until sixth to Jasmine D’Airy, for that reads well enough, but the handicapper has hardly been kind with an opening mark of 100, for all the race isn’t the toughest to start off with.
Maybe the one for today, particularly as he steps up in trip, is ALBIE LITTLEWOOD. Dan Skelton’s six-year-old has had three relatively quick runs over shorter in the autumn to get himself handicapped for this, and this half-brother to Roksana is going to be suited by this 2m4f trip. I’d expect a better showing today and he wouldn’t need to improve an awful lot on what he’s achieved so far to take a big hand in the finish.

Latin finally landed the odds for his supporters at Southwell on Friday night after a series of fairly short-priced defeats, but it was still fairly hard work and a 5lb penalty, plus a drop back a furlong in trip on a sharper track, mean he’s worth taking on today.
There’s a ready-made alternative in the shape of MY BOY HARRY, who just failed to get his head in front over this C&D last time out, his run coming just too late after finding himself short of room at the furlong pole. That represented his best run this winter so far and the handicapper will give him a rise for it, so off the same mark today his chance looks obvious. He’ll need a strong pace but that looks likely, and he is expected to get on top late on.
