We’re going up in trip with him to seven furlongs. I’ve always wanted to do it and there’s no better place to try it than in a Group One at York. He’s in really good form, will like the ground but I’m just a fraction worried he might be sharper for this after a bit of time off. We’ve done as much as we can at home with him, though.

He’s badly handicapped and his recent performances have shown that. He’s still off 100 now and while I’d love to see him run a big race, I fear it might be a struggle again.

I just have a question mark over the ground with him. It was testing when he ran in the November Handicap last year over a mile-and-a-half but that was inconclusive. He likes York and usually runs well here so that’s definitely in his favour.

Another who loves York but there are no question marks over the ground against him. He’s just as high as he needs to be in the handicap and has no wiggle room from this mark.

He won’t mind the ground but really needs to step up going into a race like this.

He came in relatively late to us but is going nicely at home. He’s a colt who will be winning races somewhere down the line but I’d just be a little worried about whether he’s tuned in enough to do so on debut.

He won’t mind the ground. He was badly handicapped but the handicapper is starting to relent now and I’d like to think he’ll run well – rather than think he will.

We’ve been aiming a bit high with her of late so are dropping in grade on Saturday to get a real sense of where we are at the minute. I’d like to see her run well, she’s down to a the sort of handicap mark she should be very competitive form.

He’s one who could run well on Saturday. I was very pleased with him at York last time, he’s relatively fresh and down a pound and in grade at Redcar.

Nine of nine isn’t ideal but this is a horse who knows how to win and he’d look to have a good chance.

She’s limited but has won a couple of races this season and this doesn’t look the deepest of contests. She needs to bounce back from a disappointing run at Ripon last time but easily could.
