Conditions at Newmarket are expected to improve ahead of the Qipco 2000 Guineas Festival next weekend once a period of wet weather has gone through the Rowley Mile course.
The going was described as good, good to soft in places on Sunday following rain on Friday and early on Saturday.
More rain was forecast from late on Sunday until Tuesday morning but after that, the weather should be predominately dry.
"We have had 18 millimetres of rain since the bet365 Craven Meeting, the majority of which fell on Friday and Saturday morning," said clerk of the course Michael Prosser.
"It has been dry since 11am on Saturday, but we are expecting a spell of wet and windy weather to arrive on Sunday evening, lasting until Tuesday morning, with approximately one inch of rain to fall within that period."
"However, once the rain has passed through we are forecast to be largely dry for the remainder of the week."
