This race has been dominated by horses towards the top of the market in recent seasons and that appears the place to focus once again.
DOUX PRETENDER ticks more boxes than any other horse in the line-up and might appreciate reverting to a right-handed track, as he is two from two over hurdles when racing this way around.
Plenty of others warrant serious consideration, including impressive Ascot winner Darling Maltaix and, possibly even more so, market leader Kloud Gate, who has shot up the weights after two bloodless victories. He is still rated below the average winner of this, but is an unexposed novice on a sharp upward curve.
