Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana set to join Brighton & Hove Albion
Brighton are set to complete the signing of Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana.
The 32-year-old will be a free agent when his contract expires at Anfield following the conclusion of the 2019/20 season on Sunday.
Reports say that Lallana will sign a three-year deal with the Seagulls - who retained their Premier League status once again in Graham Potter's first season in charge.
The former England international made 178 appearances during a six-year stint at Liverpool - contributing 22 goals and a further 22 assists.
15 of those appearances came this season, where Liverpool won the Premier League title, with a goal in their 1-1 draw against Manchester United at Old Trafford in October.
Lallana hasn't played for Liverpool since their 2-1 victory over Bournemouth at the beginning of July with the club honouring an agreement with the midfielder not to put him at risk of injury.
"We have a difficult situation," Reds boss Jurgen Klopp recently said. "But I will respect Adam a lot. And everything with Adam is sorted, let me say it like this.
"He is so fit, he is training, everything is fine. But yes, the future is his future, and if we need his help on the pitch we can get it. He is there.
"He trains 100 per cent but as long as we don’t need it, he will just train. That is the normal thing."
An official announcement is expected in the coming days.
