Southwell winner from 1 lb higher in January. Shaped well when third of 14 in handicap at Yarmouth (1m) 9 days ago, faring best of those ridden prominently. Cheekpieces back on and he firmly enters calculations.

Winner of an amateur event over 1¼m at Newbury last summer and shaped well when third over that trip at Chelmsford on return. Excuses for both defeats since so he could be dangerous down in grade.

Capitalised on career-low mark over 1m at Newcastle in December and signed off time for Iain Jardine with another success over that C&D in February. Retains handicap scope on old form starting out for new yard.

Two wins on turf at up to 11.5f in 2024 but yet to make a significant impact on the all-weather and has a 13-month absence to overcome.

Improver following a yard switch, going in again at Kempton (1m) before a good second over C&D 3 weeks later. Well held back on turf latest but could easily bounce back on this surface.

Enhanced excellent Wolverhampton record in December. Fifth of 7 in handicap back there 14 days ago, albeit well positioned. Given a chance by the handicapper as now 2 lb below last successful mark.

Placed twice over 7f here in February without looking totally straightforward. Failed to get any cover and weakened out of it at Kempton last month. Back up in trip.

Resumed winning ways over C&D in November and shouldn't be judged too harshly on his effort back here a month later. Looked rusty on return at Kempton 3 weeks ago and better expected here with leading amateur booked.

Failed to get home over 1¼m when fifth of 8 in handicap at Chelmsford last month and much more like it dropped to 7f when finding only one too good here 4 weeks ago.

Winless after 13 runs but posted a pair of placed efforts when last seen in the autumn, latterly upped to 9.5f at Wolverhampton in October. Player if returning at that level.

Won at Cork last spring for Noel Meade but form tailed off. Failed to build on the mild promise of his stable debut at Southwell next time before running a cracker under this rider when second at Doncaster 3 weeks ago. Big player on that effort, although not so reliable on all-weather.

Forecasts

No Knee Never (5/2), Chico Dulce (11/4), Alazwar (7/2), Rosemary's Rose (8/1), King of The Dance (12/1), Little She (14/1), Showmedemoney (14/1), Snooker McCrew (16/1), Tam Lin (20/1), Port Louis (20/1), King Of Speed (25/1), Thursday (80/1)

Verdict

CHICO DULCE has a positive record at this track and with his recent Kempton run likely to have blown the cobwebs away, Michael Madgwick's 6-y-o should be primed for a very big run. Port Louis is a huge threat on his Doncaster second but his all-weather profile isn't convincing, so No Knee Never is feared most.
