Pretty Pollyanna booked her ticket for the Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot next week after making an eye-catching winning debut at Yarmouth.
The Michael Bell-trained youngster saw off eight other newcomers to land the six-furlong fillies' maiden in good style - despite showing obvious signs of greenness. Hayley Turner had Pretty Pollyanna (14-1) close to the pace set by 11-10 favourite Assembly Of Truth in the early stages before going on a furlong out.
The daughter of Oasis Dream, owned by Bill and Tim Gredley, ducked left under pressure but kept on well to beat Kareena Kapoor by half a length, with Assembly Of Truth a nose away in third place.
"If she came and ran well we were going to think about the Albany," Bell told At The Races. "This race has been the plan for three weeks. It was a nice introduction and hopefully she'll now go to Ascot provided she eats up. She's a robust filly with a very good constitution. This has been our plan for a while. Plan A has come off so now we will execute phase two."
