14:30 York - John Smith's Cup Handicap (Heritage)
Plenty with chances here in the usual competitive renewal. CARADOC flew home on his reappearance when seen at Epsom. He should come on for that run and can go well here. Great Example hasn't been seen this season, but has Cieran Fallon taking off 3lb and that could be very useful. Rise Hall makes most appeal of the runners who have double figure prices.
14:50 Newbury - British EBF/bet365 Premier Fillies' Handicap (Str)
GRACEFUL MAGIC was pulled out due to the ground last week at Newmarket. She has some very good form, most notably defeating Musidora winner Rose of Kildaire before only being turned over by half a length when they re-opposed at Ayr. She was well held in the Qipco 1000 Guineas but she was 200/1 that day so clearly there weren't huge expectations. The more the ground dries, the better she'll go.
15:05 York - John Smith's City Walls Stakes (Listed)
This rates as a good contest for Listed company. Alpha Delphini will take some beating if returning from a significant injury lay-off in the same form. He may just need the run though and EL ASTRONAUTE is a fine sprinter who may be able to see off 3lb penalty.
15:25 Newbury - bet365 Aphrodite Fillies' Stakes (Listed)
A race that often falls the way of three year-old fillies can do so again in the shape of VIRGIN SNOW. She ran a fine race in The Hoppings' Stakes and drops down in class to contest this. Cabaletta will be a much bigger price but could go well and Henry Candy's La Lune could be unexposed.
15:40 York - William Hill Extra Places Every Day Handicap
Another hugely competitive handicap. MAKE MY DAY is smartly bred, been gelded and comes here off the back of an encouraging three runs as a Juvenile. The handicapper hasn't been too harsh, he has a nice draw in stall three and can get the better of Arctic Fox.
16:00 Newbury - bet365 Hackwood Stakes (Group 3)
SHINE SO BRIGHT was well held when down the field at Royal Ascot but returned to some form when third at Epsom the last day. He will come on again for that run with Group 2 and Listed form in his locker. Summerghand was denied in agonising fashion in The Wokingham and is a massively consistent animal whilst The Tin Man may still have some of the old sparkle with Oisin Murphy an interesting booking.
