Bacio stormed to a fantastic all the way win in the Group 1 Coolmore City of Troy Nunthorpe Stakes at York on Friday.
Wesley Ward's three-year-old was sent off the 3/1 favourite and shrugged off question marks over the softer ground as he tore apart the Nunthorpe field with a display of brazen speed.
Juan Hernandez was out quickly on the Royal Ascot winner with Night Raider following the American in his slipstream with the rest a couple of lengths behind.
As Hernandez looked behind for dangers Night Raider fell away and it was left to the likes of Starlust (25/1, second) and Rumstar (22/1, third) to mount the final challenges.
Bacio was away and gone, though, and a length and a quarter winning distance hardly tells the story of his superiority over the European sprinters.
He was simply in a different league.
A delighted Hernandez said: "That was some performance, all the credit goes to Bacio; I'm just happy to be here, enjoying the moment.
"He was the one that fired, even before the gate he was trying to get ahead of the other guys, he kind of hit the gate a little bit but after that he was calm and he was ready. When the gate opened, he was all fire, he was trying to go too early, but I was able to take him back a little bit and save him for the last part.
"I want to say thanks to Wesley Ward for bringing me here, assistant Blake, the groom - they do a really beautiful job with this horse and thanks to everybody.
"It's my first win here but hopefully I can come back again. It's really special. It's something I never imagined before when I started riding back in Mexico but I'm really happy and this race is for America and all of my family."

Harry Eustace's filly was held up in the rear and was going well when squeezed for room, while she was stopped in her tracks again once angled out to the inside.
Once finally in the clear she flew home for fourth, but by then the bird had flown.
Former winner Asfoora bows out
It was the final career start for eight-year-old Australian mare, Asfoora, who finished eighth.
Mainly campaigned in Europe the last three seasons, she won the King Charles III Stakes, last year’s Nunthorpe and the Prix de l’Abbaye during a superb three seasons.
Trainer Henry Dwyer said: “We’ve had an amazing journey after three years and sadly all good things come to an end.
“She didn’t really enjoy the ground but she tried her hardest. It’s time to find another one now.”
