Neymar returned to the PSG side with a bang as he scored a spectacular injury time winner in a 1-0 success over Strasbourg in Ligue 1.
The controversial Brazilian was still booed by sections of the Parc des Prince crowd who are unhappy with his apparent desire to leave Paris and return to Barcelona over the summer.
Former team-mate Lionel Messi recently revealed that Neymar had told him he was desperate to return to Barca in the summer, but the two clubs were unable to find a suitable agreement on a deal.
Thomas Tuchel had not included Neymar yet this season, with the Brazilian struggling with injury, but he returned with a signal of his immense ability as he broke the deadlock with Strasbourg in style.
Neymar produced a spectacular overhead volley in the 91st minute to clinch all three points for PSG - even though not all of the home fans showed their delight.
Neymar says he understands why he was booed by his own supporters - even after scoring a spectacular winner on his Paris St Germain return.
Neymar said in quotes reported by L'Equipe: "We all know what happened (in the summer). I understand that it is very difficult for them (the fans).
"But from now on, I am a PSG player. If they want to whistle me, there is no problem. There are more than 25 players in the squad, you cannot focus on one.
"The other players do not deserve to be subjected to this. We have a team and we have to support the club, support Paris. When the crowd is behind the team, together we are stronger."
Asked if he had a message for the fans, he said: "No, nothing. I just want to thank my team-mates for allowing me to score this goal."
As well as Neymar's return, there were also debuts for goalkeeper Keylor Navas, signed from Real Madrid, who PSG play in the Champions League on Wednesday, and Inter Milan loanee Mauro Icardi.
Navas said on psg.fr: "I feel very good and I am very happy after this win. It was a difficult match, but my team-mates played a great match and Neymar scored the winning goal.
"We had to push and score in the very last minute, it was liberating. Neymar is important to the team, we are happy to have him with us."
Neymar scored for Brazil in an impressive display against Colombia last week and Tuchel put him straight into the side as well as giving a debut to goalkeeper Keylor Navas, signed from Real Madrid.
Neymar had his first opening in the 15th minute but was unable to connect with the ball at the near post.
Strasbourg were not just sitting back and Navas was called into action in the 19th minute to make a save from Ludovic Ajorque.
PSG were certainly not peppering the Strasbourg goal. Neymar had another chance in the 55th minute but shot wide, and eight minutes later new signing Mauro Icardi was introduced in place of Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting.
As the hosts' frustration grew, Navas was again called upon to keep out Ajorque.
Neymar then hit a post direct from a corner with only four minutes left, but his biggest contribution was yet to come.
