Pep Guardiola saw his Manchester City side have the lowest amount of possession of any team he's ever managed in the top flight, but was more worried about losing Sergio Aguero to injury.
City’s 2-1 win over Chelsea came with just 46.74 percent possession at the Etihad, which is the lowest recorded total by any one of his sides in the top flight in his entire 381-game career.
Guardiola though, was more focused on how his side responded not only to their last defeat at Liverpool, but also to going behind against a flying Chelsea team under Frank Lampard.
"We won against a top side," Guardiola said. "Chelsea over the last 20 years have always been a good team but Frank is a courageous manager."
"Big opponent, big quality. They made it difficult for us. We started quite well, after we conceded the goal, and we suffered a bit with the quality they had, but in their best moments we scored.
"They are a top side, but we fought a lot and got a good victory. We suffered in the last minutes, but we controlled the game a lot better. Football is coming more like this - not teams coming and putting men behind the ball, managers having the courage to play."
Aguero limping out with 13 minutes left was the major down side to the win for Guardiola, with the fixtures coming thick and fast with the Champions League this week and visits to Newcastle and Burnley before the Manchester derby.
"We will see but it doesn't look good," Guardiola said of Aguero. "I think it's muscular. He thought it was a kick but maybe he stretched it a bit."
City's Kevin De Bruyne praised his side for the fight they showed when coming from behind after suffering such a disappointing loss at Anfield last time out.
"We knew before the game that there would be moments where we would have trouble to get the ball," said the Belgian.
"Everyone knows we are a team with a lot of quality with the ball but we showed we can also do the other side, with good defending. It's hard to get the ball, but I think we created more chances."
City remain nine points behind leaders Liverpool, but goal scorer Riyad Mahrez insisted the team are not giving that much thought.
"We don't look too much at Liverpool," he said. "We have to try to win every game, like we used to, and see how many points we have at the end."
