Mainz battled back from 2-0 down to grab a 2-2 draw against Koln to bolster their fight against Bundesliga relegation.
An early Mark Uth penalty followed by a second half Florian Kainz strike put the hosts in command, as Koln looked to make a push for European places.
However, on-loan Liverpool striker Taiwo Awoniyi pulled a goal back just after the hour mark, and Pierre Kunde drew the visitors level with a spectacular solo run and finish with 18 left to play.
The sides had to settle for a point which doesn't help either too much - Koln staying in 10th place and Mainz remaining in 15th.
Mainz are now unbeaten in nine home games against Mainz, but after building that two-goal cushion it's certainly two points lost for the Billy Goats.
