Football talking points: Dejan Lovren aims dig at Jose Mourinho ahead of Manchester United v Liverpool at Old Trafford

Dejan Lovren aimed a dig at Jose Mourinho ahead of Liverpool's trip to Manchester United saying he expects him to park the bus at Old Trafford.

Kante's funny turn

N'Golo Kante is back in action after ill health

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte says midfielder N’Golo Kante is back to full health after he passed out after training last Friday.

The former Leicester man has been having tests ever since but has now been given the all clear to resume playing for the champions.

“N'Golo is fine,” Conte said. “He trained the whole week. He's in good form. He's fine.

“Last week, on Friday, it was very cold. After the training session he passed out briefly in the dressing room.

“The doctor brought him to have many check-ups, to understand his physical condition. But it was all clear.

“I think that on Sunday he was well, but at the same time it was right not to take a risk, to give him the opportunity not to play and to rest. He's OK. Every check-up is OK, it is perfect.”

Lovren - Jose will park the bus

Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren may not have endeared himself to his team-mates or manager as he aimed a jibe at Jose Mourinho on the eve of their huge showdown with Manchester United on Saturday that is sure to rile up the opposition.

Mourinho attracted criticism for going to Anfield and setting up defensively in their last couple of trips to Liverpool, and Lovren expects he'll now produce the same tactic at home.

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho and Liverpool's Jurgen Klopp

It's hard to see Mourinho 'parking the bus' at Old Trafford against their fierce rivals, but that didn't stop Lovren having his say in an interview that may well find itself on the home dressing room wall before kick-off.

“It will be a tough challenge definitely,” said Lovren. “Last time, when they came here, they defend really deep so let's see what happens now.

"For them it will be maybe a point good but for us, we never play for a point. We are there; we will give our best. We will play like we play every day, attacking football. Let's enjoy it.

“You know, Mourinho has his own plans. Whatever he wants to do, it is not our job to know. It is our job to focus on ourselves and play how we hope will beat them."

Hammers fans protest

David Moyes is under pressure at West Ham

There’s still an uneasy atmosphere surrounding West Ham, but at least there’ll be no protest by fans on Saturday ahead of their home game against Burnley.

A number of fans’ groups had planned a march but after meeting Karren Brady, one of the groups pulled out and the action has now been postponed.

The West Ham United Independent Supporters Association, said: “The group has been unable to gain permission to hold a peaceful, lawful demonstration.

“Correspondence from Newham Council stated, ‘it would be beneficial if we could postpone for a short period to consider a proposal which would be safe for participants, without substantial disruption to the road network.’”

If the Hammers lose against Burnley it may well be rescheduled.

West Ham are now 9/2 to be relegated from the Premier League

Arsenal are like Rocky

Arsene Wenger says his Arsenal side were like a "half knocked-down" boxer and was pleased with his side's response to their run of four successive losses as they beat Milan.

Arsenal have been on the ropes of late but Wenger says they avoided a knockout blow at the San Siro and came out swinging to salvage their season.

“Like a boxing match, when you are half knocked-down and another (punch) comes again, and that's what happened to us.

“It is hard psychologically to digest that in three or four days and we had games on the bounce straight away.

"But at some stage, you have to respond with your pride and your desire that you have to quality to win the game and that's what we did."

Arsenal are now 4/1 second favourites to win the Europa League.

Florence pays its respects

There were incredible scenes in the main square in Florence as the city said farewell to Davide Astori.

Thousands of fans gathered as the Italian defender’s funeral following his tragic sudden death, chanting ‘there’s only one captain.’

Reds fan rewarded

Young Liverpool fan Alfie Radford has been a social media hit after he received a present from Reds left-back Andy Robertson of a signed shirt.

Young Alfie had donated his pocket money to a local food bank and his touching gesture attracted the attention of Robertson, who thought he deserved a reward.

A Liverpool shirt was then sent to the youngster, but it was Roberto Firmino’s and not Robertson's, as the Scotland international joked that nobody wanted a left-back’s shirt!
