After a campaign of significant change at crucial points, we're starting to see some clarity across the Sky Bet EFL.
Only one of the seven automatic promotion spots remains available, a jump up from the four we had going into the penultimate weekend, while a number of teams know that they'll be dropping down a division.
It may not be mathematically done for others, but goal difference situations means they'll have realistic expectations going into the final day.
The one race which seems alive across the board is that for the play-offs. Each of the three divisions has at least one spot open for someone to grab.
In the Championship, it's two, in League Two, it's three. Two of the three titles are still to be decided. There may be plenty of gold and red on various league graphics but plenty of drama is yet to come.
So what has happened and what's the current state of play? We outline all ahead of the EFL's final day on Saturday.
Sky Bet Championship
- Champions: TBC
- Promoted: Leeds, Burnley
- Guaranteed play-offs: Sheffield United, Sunderland, TBC, TBC
- Relegated: Cardiff, TBC, TBC
There was never a need for a Premier League section in this article as we've known for a very long time the three teams coming down.
Southampton's pitiful top-flight campaign at least provides 'Ivan Juric' as a potential forgotten pub quiz answer that'll annoy you in a few years' time. Saints became the 'earliest' team relegated and now face a battle to better the points tally set by the infamous Derby side of 2007/08.
They've now been joined by Leicester and Ipswich, marking the second season in a row where the three promoted sides have gone straight back down.
Leeds a̶r̶e̶ ̶f̶a̶l̶l̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶a̶p̶a̶r̶t̶ ̶a̶g̶a̶i̶n̶ were promoted to the Premier League following the Easter Monday action.
The Whites hammered Stoke 6-0 and knew that anything other than a Sheffield United win in the late kick-off would see them return to the top-flight.
That's exactly what happened, and Burnley's victory in that contest also saw them secure a top-two finish.
Leeds have the advantage in the title race and all they need to do is match Burnley's result on final day to lift the trophy.
Championship title hopefuls' final day fixtures
Sunderland are guaranteed a spot in the top six and they will feature in the play-offs alongside Sheffield United.
Bristol City were heavily beaten by Leeds on Monday night but their play-off spot is still in their own hands. They face Preston on final day.
Two surprise packages in Millwall and Blackburn have thrown themselves into the play-off mix as only goal difference keeps Alex Neil's side out, while Rovers trail by a single point.
It's no surprise Sky Sports have given Main Event treatment to Coventry's clash with Middlesbrough. The Sky Blues are in that sixth and final play-off spot but Boro can leapfrog them with victory - whether or not that's enough for a top-six finish remains to be seen.
Championship play-off hopefuls' final day fixtures
Looking further down the table and Plymouth are three points adrift of safety - although goal difference means they are effectively relegated. Cardiff's spot in Sky Bet League One next season has been confirmed though, with Aaron Ramsey unable to guide them to safety in his short time at the helm.
That means we have one spot left open. That is currently occupied by Hull, with Luton (21st) and Preston (20th), Derby (19th) and Stoke (18th) all vulnerable to varying degrees.
Relegation-threatened teams' final day fixtures
Sky Bet League One
- Champions: Birmingham
- Promoted: Birmingham, Wrexham
- Guaranteed play-offs: Wycombe, Charlton, Stockport, TBC
- Relegated: Shrewsbury, Cambridge, Bristol Rovers, Crawley
Big-money Birmingham and their billion-pound squad* secured both promotion and then the title with six games remaining.
Peterborough did at least beat them in the Vertu Trophy final at Wembley to deny Blues a double - bad news for the latest documentary we never needed in the first place.
Wrexham then sealed their own place in the Championship on the penultimate weekend with victory over Charlton, who had already secured a play-offs spot at that stage.
The Addicks will be joined by Stockport and Wycombe in the post-season match-up - one space is still up for grabs.
That is a battle between Leyton Orient and Reading. The O's currently occupy sixth on goal difference and Reading therefore have to better their result on the final day to make the play-offs - or whack 10 past Barnsley.
League One play-off hopefuls' final day fixtures
Shrewsbury were relegated in gameweek 43 and that came in the minutes before losing at home to Wigan, bringing an end to their ten-year stay in League One.
They've been joined by Cambridge, while Bristol Rovers and Crawley saw their relegation confirmed following Burton's draw with Wigan on Tuesday night.
Sky Bet League Two
- Champions: TBC
- Promoted: Doncaster, Port Vale, TBC
- Guaranteed at least play-offs: Bradford, Walsall, Notts County, TBC
- Relegated: Carlisle, Morecambe
Finally, after weeks of uncertainty, we are getting a clearer picture of what's actually going on in Sky Bet League Two.
Nobody seemingly wanted to take their chance of a top-three finish when presented with it, that was until last weekend anyway.
Doncaster secured promotion with a win over Bradford and they are now in pole position for the title with one game remaining.
Also promoted but still hoping for success are Port Vale. The win over Wimbledon moved them to an unassailable six-point lead over third.
League Two title hopefuls' final day fixtures
They've both been presented the opportunity thanks to an all-timer of a collapse from Walsall.
Should they not finish in the top three it should go down in history for all the wrong reasons.
The Saddlers were 15 points clear of fourth after beating MK Dons on January 18. They head into the final day in fourth after winning just two of their last 20 matches.
In the race for the play-offs, Notts County have secured their top seven spot and could well go up automatically but that requires help from elsewhere.
They need to beat Doncaster and hope that Bradford are beaten by Fleetwood and Crewe get the better of Walsall.
League Two automatic promotion hopefuls' final day fixtures
Grimsby's meeting with Wimbledon is one of many notable fixtures on the final day.
Wimbledon are sixth and in the play-offs but with the Mariners just two points behind, a win at Blundell Park sees them leapfrog the Dons and potentially take their place in the top seven.
Currently in seventh are Salford who have the place on goal difference. A win over relegated Carlisle will be enough.
Colchester and Chesterfield are still in the running but need favours from elsewhere.
League Two play-off hopefuls' final day fixtures
At the other end, it's done and dusted with Carlisle and Morecambe heading down to the National League.
Barnet will be taking one of those spots having won that division. One other team will join them in the EFL via the play-offs.
