Warrington prop Ashton Sims gets one-game ban

Warrington prop Ashton Sims has been handed a one-match ban for intentionally standing on an opponent.

The Fiji international was charged with a grade B offence on Widnes winger Patrick Ah Van during his side's 34-20 Challenge Cup win over the Vikings on Sunday and pleaded guilty when he appeared in front of a disciplinary hearing.

Sims, who was also fined £300, will serve the ban at Saturday's Magic Weekend clash with Wigan at Newcastle's St James' Park.

Leeds prop Keith Galloway is free to play in Sunday's game against Castleford after submitting an early-guilty plea to a grade A high tackle during his side's Challenge Cup win over Barrow.

Toronto prop Jake Emmitt, one of four players sent off in the Wolfpacks' stormy opening home game against Oxford, has been banned for two matches after submitting an early-guilty plea for punching.

The Canadians will also be without joint leading tryscorer Liam Kay for Saturday's top-two League 1 clash with Barrow in Toronto after he was given a one-match ban for punching.

Two other Wolfpack players, hooker Sean Penkywicz and stand-off Blake Wallace, avoided any suspension for their offences.

Penkywicz submitted an early-guilty plea to a minor head-butting offence while Wallace was found guilty of punching and fined £75.

Oxford captain Callum Windley, who was also sent off in that match, was also found guilty of punching and fined £75.

Meanwhile, Swinton assistant coach Jay Duffy has been given a two-match ban after admitting using foul and abusive language towards a match official during his club's Championship win over Toulouse.
