Kingstone Press Championship review: Hull KR win


A review of Sunday's action in the Kingstone Press Championship, as Hull KR ran in eight tries against Oldham.

Hull KR ran in eight tries to thrash Oldham and stay top of the Kingstone Press Championship.

Thomas Minns (2), Shaun Lunt, James Donaldson, Nick Scruton, Jordan Abdull, Jamie Ellis, Kieren Moss were all on the try sheet in the 48-0 romp.

Jamie Ellis converted all eight tries as the Roughyeds dropped to ninth in the 12-team league.

Featherstone Rovers remain hot on their heels in second after a 30-13 victory at Swinton Lions.

Andy Thornley crossed twice for the Lions, but Rovers ran in tries through Matty Wildie, Andy Bostock, Jason Walton and Ashley Handley, while Michael Knowles landed seven goals.

London Broncos won 20-6 at Dewsbury Rams thanks to tries from Vitale Roqica, Jarrod Sammut and Alex Walker.

Sammut also kicked four goals with the Rams' only response a Hamish Barnes try and Paul Sykes' conversion.

Batley coasted to a 54-10 success at Sheffield Eagles.

Bulldogs trio Bradley Day, Tom Holmes and Wayne Reittie crossed for a brace apiece with additional tries from Al Leak, Dominic Brambani, Macauley Hallett and Michael Hayward.

There were also wins for Bradford Bulls, who beat Toulouse 29-22, and Halifax at Rochdale Hornets.

Ed Barber, Steve Tyrer and Rob Worrincy scored tries for Halifax in their 20-6 win at the Crown Oil Arena.
