England winger Ryan Hall is set to end a nine-month injury lay-off and make his NRL debut for Sydney Roosters on Friday.
The 31-year-old joined the Roosters from Leeds at the end of the 2018 season but has spent all year recovering from an ACL tear he sustained in the Rhinos' opening Super 8s clash with Toulouse last August.
Hall, England's most prolific try-scorer, was named in coach Trent Robinson's 21-man squad for the reigning champions' match with Brisbane and on Thursday was promoted into the starting line-up when Daniel Tupou was ruled out with a neck injury.
Hall will become the 10th Englishman to ply his trade in the NRL in 2019, joining Sam, George and Tom Burgess (South Sydney), Josh Hodgson, Elliott Whitehead, John Bateman and Ryan Sutton (Canberra) and James Graham and Gareth Widdop (St George Illawarra).
