Super Grand Final: Wigan v Warrington by the numbers

Press Association Sport takes a look at the climax to the domestic season as Wigan and Warrington meet in the Super League Grand Final.

Super League's Grand Final comes of age on Saturday when Wigan and Warrington meet in the 21st title decider at Old Trafford.

Sky Bet make Wigan their 4/7 favourites, with Warrington 7/4.

Here, Press Association Sport takes a look at the climax to the domestic season in numbers.

1

Warrington are seeking their maiden Grand Final victory and their first league title for 63 years.

3

Wigan will face Warrington for the third time in six years at Old Trafford, with the Wolves hoping to make it third time lucky. Warrington also lost 8-0 to Wigan at Old Trafford in the 1987 Premiership Final in which current coach Shaun Wane played at prop.

5

Wigan are aiming for a fifth win in their 10th Grand Final appearance.

9

The Warriors will go into the game on the back of a nine-match winning run.

10

The Warriors will equal St Helens' record of 10 Grand Final appearances. A loss would see Wigan set a new record for most defeats with six.

11

Former Bradford and Leeds forward Jamie Peacock holds the record for most Grand Final appearances, having played in the Super League title decider on 11 occasions.

24

Josh Charnley scored 162 tries in 171 appearances for Wigan before switching codes and has maintained that remarkable rate with 24 tries so far in 27 matches for Warrington.

48

The highest aggregate score in a Grand Final was set in 2011 when Leeds defeated St Helens 32-16.

63

Warrington are aiming to win the league title for the first time in 63 years, having beaten Oldham 7-3 in the championship final at Maine Road in 1955.
