Liam Finn signs Wakefield contract extension

Wakefield's veteran half-back Liam Finn has signed a new contract for 2018.

The 33-year-old former Castleford and Featherstone player, who is expected to captain Ireland in the 2017 World Cup, has enjoyed a resurgence since joining Trinity 18 months ago.

"I am delighted to be staying," Finn said. "I have had an enjoyable one and half years so far and hopefully that will continue and I can keep trying to improve and enjoy my rugby."

It is one down, two to go for Wakefield coach Chris Chester, who is also hoping to tie up his other out-of-contract half-backs Jacob Miller and Sam Williams on fresh deals.
