Niall Evalds has committed his future to Salford

Academy product Niall Evalds has become the latest player to commit his future to Salford.

The winger has scored 11 tries in 12 appearances so far this year to leave the Red Devils well placed for a first major trophy since 1976.

Salford had already tied down a host of players for next season and beyond, including Gareth O'Brien and Ben Murdoch-Masila.

"Niall has been with us since he was 15 and he's made massive progress with the club," head coach Ian Watson told salfordreddevils.net.

"I'm really pleased that he's chosen to commit his long term-future to Salford.

"He's had to really fight for his place this year and he's let his performances do the talking."

Salford are third in Super League and have a Challenge Cup semi-final against Wigan to look forward to next month.

"Niall has had good offers from other clubs but has chosen to stay here and continue to fight to maintain his place in the first team which is really pleasing," added chief executive Ian Blease.

"We're all really excited about the future for this group of players, but first and foremost the priority is Sunday's game against Huddersfield."
