Workington have parted company with head coach Dave Clark

Workington have parted company with head coach Dave Clark after missing out on a place in the Kingstone Press League 1 play-offs.

Clark, a former player and coach of Barrow, took over at Derwent Park last October following Town's relegation from the Championship, but oversaw just nine wins from their 22 matches in 2017.

Town chairman Garry Mounsey said: "I'd like to thank Dave for all of his hard work and endeavours in what was always going to be a challenging rebuilding season for the club. We part on good terms and he goes with our very best wishes."
