German Open snooker: Judd Trump eases to victory over Li Hang in Berlin

Newly-crowned Masters champion Judd Trump eased into the second round of the German Open in Hamburg with a 5-2 win over China's Li Hang.

Fresh from his stunning London triumph over Ronnie O'Sullivan, Trump fired into a 3-0 lead and went on to cruise to victory despite a fine break of 105 by his opponent in the penultimate frame.

World champion Mark Williams held his nerve to repel a fightback by another Chinese player, Zhou Yuelong, and also progress to the second round,

An early 127 break by the Welshman helped him establish a 3-1 lead but the Chinese player reduced the deficit to a single frame before Williams sealed the match with a break of 76.

World number seven Barry Hawkins lost four of the last five frames as he crashed to a 5-4 defeat against Robert Milkins, while Kyren Wilson overcame Rory McLeod 5-3.
