A review of the weekend's action in the Premiership Rugby Cup, including a dramatic win for Northampton on Sunday.
Sunday
Mitch Eadie scored on the last play of the game as Northampton Saints snatched a dramatic 15-14 victory at Wasps in the Premiership Rugby Cup.
Chris Boyd's side, who top Pool Three, came from behind to win at the Ricoh Arena after James Grayson kicked the decisive conversion from in front of the posts after 80 minutes.
Scores either side of the break from Wasps pair Marcus Watson and Tom Willis, each converted by Billy Searle, appeared to have put the hosts on course for victory.
But the bottom club were pegged back in the final quarter as a Grayson penalty reduced the deficit before Taqele Naiyaravoro and Eadie touched down.
Elsewhere, Tim Swiel returned to haunt former club Harlequins as his late penalty lifted Newcastle Falcons to a enthralling 23-21 win at the Stoop in Pool One.
Falcons were 13-9 ahead early in the second period thanks to a try from Pedro Bettencourt Avila and eight points from the boot of Brett Connon, with Demetri Catrakilis converting three penalties for the hosts.
Ben Stevenson's converted try extended Newcastle's lead, but tries from Lewis Boyce and Alex Dombrandt, plus a Catrakilis conversion, turned the match in Quins' favour.
South African fly-half Swiel held his nerve to have the final say though, continuing his side's unbeaten start to the competition after last weekend's draw with Exeter Chiefs.
Saturday
Late tries from Daniel Thomas and Jake Heenan powered Bristol to a 21-13 victory over Gloucester while Worcester edged out Leicester on Saturday.
Gloucester's Owen Williams kicked two penalties in response to Nick Haining's 27th-minute try to leave the teams in a close battle at 7-6, and Williams then missed the chance to kick Gloucester into the lead just before the hour.
Thomas made him pay as he crossed in the 65th minute, soon followed by Heenan as Bristol raced into a 21-6 lead.
A penalty try in the 84th minute cut the gap but came too late to save Gloucester.
Friday's other game ended in a 15-15 stalemate as Sale and Saracens cancelled each other out to earn Sale their first points of the season in the competition.
They had to come from behind to do it after early tries from Joel Kpoku and Matt Gallagher had Saracens 12-3 up after 23 minutes, but Paolo Odogwu's try - converted by Will Cliff - cut the gap before half-time.
Cliff then crossed himself just before the hour but missed the conversion to leave it at 15-12, and that left the door open for Max Malins to level it with a penalty in the 67th minute.
Worcester recorded their record win at Leicester with a 31-12 victory at Welford Road on Saturday.
Tries from Ted Hill, Duncan Weir, Francois Hougaard and Bryce Heem helped Warriors to a 26-0 half-time lead as they picked up a bonus-point success.
Tigers registered on the scoreboard in the second half through Gareth Owen's try but wing Heem quickly extinguished hopes of a comeback with his second.
Worcester are now four points clear at the top of Pool Two, while Leicester, who scored a consolation try through youngster Tommy Reffell, are bottom and without a point.
Earlier on Saturday, Joe Simmonds kicked eight points from full-back as Pool One leaders Exeter defeated Bath 25-18.
Tries from wing James Short and centre Ollie Devoto put the Chiefs in control at Sandy Park before Bath, who went ahead through fly-half Alex Davies' early penalty, responded before half-time thanks to Ross Batty's score.
Simmonds, who also added two conversions, kicked a penalty early in the second half before team-mate Tom O'Flaherty soon after.
Two tries from Jack Wilson threatened a Bath fightback, but they remain bottom of the pool after Exeter fly-half Harvey Skinner settled the nerves with a late penalty.
