David Ord has three selections for Friday's racing with the Nap of the day running at Chester.
Every day, our team of racing experts will pull together their strongest fancies, headlined by the Sporting Life Nap.
Richard Fahey will be relieved to see racing back at the Roodee for this fellow, a six-time course winner who is handicapped to win divison two of the Chester Rugby Club Handicap.
He's now four pounds below his last winning mark off the back of a lack-lustre season so far but he's a different proposition around here and has a handy draw in five.
If he's revitalised by returning here then he's very dangerously treated and is taken to bounce back and land this at the main expense of Mutabaahy. (David Ord)
The Nova Display Handicap is a warm heat with last-time-out winners Mr Carpenter and Kitten's Dream greatly respected.
However DAMAGE CONTROL has been keeping good company since opening his account at Chepstow three starts ago, running in the Bahrain Trophy at Newmarket and a warm handicap at the Qatar Goodwood Festival.
On that occasion he finished fifth behind Mambo Nights, beaten less than four lengths. That's very solid handicap form and the assessor has been generous in dropping him a pound for the run.
The excellent Joshua Bryan claims another three off his back and he looks sure to go close with the Andrew Balding team going well. (David Ord)
There was a lot to like about STRAIT OF HORMUZ'S win at Haydock on his first outing for the Jedd O'Keeffe team and he can get back to winning ways in the School Of Hard Knocks Handicap.
He beat a competitive field that day and was undone by a slow pace from this revised mark at Ascot next time. He could be a different proposition stepping up to ten furlongs from a good draw here and is fancied to go very close.
The thriving Highwaygrey is the obvious danger. (David Ord)
