Weather and inspection latest: Racing abandonments and going updates


Sunday's fixtures at Windsor and Fakenham will both go ahead as planned following precautionary morning inspections.

The former are all set to stage the final day of the Berkshire Winter Million fixture having opened the event on Friday.

The track was reported to be perfectly raceable on Saturday but with various forecasts suggesting a temperatures could dip below freezing overnight, they checked at 7.30am and were able to report: "The precautionary inspection was passed this morning, with the weather on our side at +2.2c overnight. The going is Soft (Good to Soft in places)."

It was a 6.30am inspection for Fakenham who again have no issues with the racing surface, stating: "Racing is going ahead today. There has been no frost overnight. First race 12.30, last race 15.55."
