NORTH FORCE – 15:50 Nottingham (NAP)

North Force15
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-6| J: Shane Gray| T: R A Fahey| OR:  77

A competitive little three-year-old handicap can go the way of Richard & Peter Fahey’s NORTH FORCE. He performed with credit in a couple of juvenile outings and, following a comeback run in a Catterick maiden in early-April, stepped forward from that to fill the runner-up spot behind Lyrical Song on handicap debut earlier this month. He’s only gone up a pound which looks reasonable given how the form has worked out quite well since (the third was third again in a good race at York last week) and considering his pedigree and the way he’s been shaping, a move up to this extended mile trip can only be a good thing.

BASED – 16:10 Lingfield

Age: 3|  Weight: 9-4| J: Cieren Fallon| T: W J Knight| OR:  55

The William Knight-trained BASED was a big eyecatcher at Wolverhampton last month, coming from the clouds after racing extremely wide on the home bend to grab second behind what looked a well-handicapped filly. He has been left on the same rating which may prove quite generous, while it’s not hard to imagine him being a lot more streetwise on this occasion. Cieren Fallon is going to require some luck of ridden in a similar fashion but him taking over from a 7lb claimer could spark a change in tactics and stall six doesn’t look a bad spot seeing as there isn’t a huge amount of early pace on his inside.

KING’S SCHOOL – 17:35 Newcastle

King's Schoolt,p29
Age: 5|  Weight: 9-7| J: Warren Fentiman(3)| T: G Tutty| OR:  73| CD

The fillies’ novice and the two-year-old maiden could obviously throw up a useful type or two but as far as punting races go Newcastle save the best for last on Tuesday as 13 are declared for a seven-furlong handicap. Lord Capulet has been a huge improver already this year but he’s up another 5lb and this is stronger than the 0-70 event he won on turf last time. KING’s SCHOOL was beaten less than a length by the reopposing top weight over this course and distance on April 20 (replay below) and that first outing since December was entitled to be needed. He’s a pretty consistent sort and could be able to turn the tables on Kevin Ryan’s runner.

DIAMOND MIX – 18:20 Hexham

Diamond Mix66
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-13| J: Callum Bewley| T: Paul Robson| OR:  107| CD

DIAMOND MIX has been lightly raced since this time last year but he won easily by nine and a half lengths over this course and distance in November and was back from a break to finish third at Newcastle when last seen in mid-March. Perhaps the handicapper has his measure now but I’m not totally convinced by that after just six chase starts in his life and getting back to Hexham – where he was also successful last April – looks the key to his claims on Tuesday.

BALLINTUBBER BOY – 19:30 Huntingdon

3
Ballintubber Boyt,v210
Age: 9|  Weight: 11-11| J: Sam Twiston-Davies| T: N & W Twiston-Davies| OR:  122| BF| CD

Dan Skelton’s Sunray Shadow is going to be popular here but BALLINTUBBER BOY could be the one to take him on. The selection has a good record when fresh, won this event when back from a layoff here in 2024 and he’s only 2lb higher in the weights than when last successful so doesn’t looked handicapped out of it by any means. Two weekend winners (plus another couple of seconds) for the Twiston-Davies team adds further weight to this horse’s credentials.
