LIGHTS GO DOWN - 16:00 Ayr (NAP)

11
Lights Go Down58
Age: 4|  Weight: 10-8| J: Jamie Hamilton| T: M & D Easterby| OR:  107

The Mick and David Easterby-trained LIGHTS GO DOWN looks decidedly well treated on handicap debut at Ayr. The four-year-old gets a chunky weight allowance in against the older horses here anyway and an opening mark of 107 over timber seems more than manageable based on his progressive form since sent jumping in November. He's been placed and run well on each occasion and, having stayed middle distances on the level, should have no issue stepping up from two miles to two and a half on Monday.

KOOL KID - 14:00 Plumpton

3
Kool Kid43
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-12| J: Brendan Powell| T: J Tizzard| OR:  103| D

KOOL KID looked a little bit stretched by two miles and three furlongs at Fontwell last month but he might just have been a shade outclassed too and he should be more at home now dropping in both grade and distance. He was third off this mark (103) on handicap debut here in December and Joe Tizzard's bumper scorer looks up to winning races over hurdles on that evidence.

BOUJEE GOLD - 19:30 Wolverhampton

1
6
Boujee Goldp18
Age: 7|  Weight: 9-9| J: William Carson| T: A W Carroll| OR:  46| CD

Not a strong race by any means but surely a decent opportunity for BOUJEE GOLD who missed a beat at the start at Southwell earlier in the month (seemingly kicked by a rival) but came home well to finish third at 28/1. The extra furlong and a half around here looks a positive if anything and the mare is clearly on the right side of the handicapper at present having scored off a 4lb higher mark at Brighton last April (also won twice at Wolverhampton in the past).

DELGANY DEADLINE – 14:50 Leicester (NAP)

6
Delgany Deadlinet,p30
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-4| J: Tristan Durrell| T: D Skelton| OR:  82| BF

He’s no star at the Skelton yard but DELGANY DEADLINE has certainly shown enough to suggest he can get his head in front in moderate enough company and Leicester’s two and three-quarter-mile handicap chase looks an ideal opening. The son of Blue Bresil has been nudged up a pound following last month’s one-length second at Sedgefield but that was a step up on the first go over fences and there’s bound to be more to come as he learns his trade.

FAN MAIL – 15:42 Newcastle

9
12
Fan Mail13
Age: 4|  Weight: 9-6| J: Sean Kirrane| T: T D Easterby| OR:  72| CD

FAN MAIL has been dropped a pound for his comeback run over six furlongs at Southwell the other week and, having shaped well under a prominent ride on that occasion, he could benefit from this first crack at the minimum trip. Newcastle tends to ride fairly testing anyway, while he won his maiden at this course 12 months ago so we already know he’s perfectly fine on the surface.

INTO THE PARK – 15:30 Catterick

2
Into The Parkp12
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-13| J: Ben Jones| T: P Hobbs & J White| OR:  122

The step back up in trip on better ground should be in INTO THE PARK’s favour at Catterick and he’s fancied to take full advantage of a 2lb ease in the weight following a recent run when third (albeit well held) at Taunton. That outing looked a bit of a confidence-restorer after he’d been pulled-up on chasing debut at Exeter in January and he’s got leading claims here based on his neck second to Dargiannini at Uttoxeter in the autumn.

KING’S CRUISER – 20:00 Southwell

8
2
King's Cruiserp22
Age: 4|  Weight: 9-1| J: L Morris| T: M Botti| OR:  61

KING’S CRUISER was in no way suited by the early crawl and ensuing sprint for the line on handicap debut at Wolverhampton earlier in the month but he shaped pretty well in the circumstances and looks to have started off on a workable sort of mark. He’s been dropped a pound on the back of it and while he was well beaten on his only previous trip to Southwell, that came on debut over a much shorter trip and he’s clearly more of a stayer based on what we’ve seen since then.
