Racing tip of the day

Ian Ogg heads to the concluding apprentice handicap at Lingfield Park for the Sporting Life racing tip of the day.

Recommended bet:

1pt win Betsalottie in 4.30 Lingfield at 7/2

Ryan Moore rocks up at Lingfield for one ride, there are a couple of last time out winners with very obvious claims at Catterick where Dan Skelton introduces a runner with decent point-to-point form.

All are priced accordingly.

It's tempting to take a flier on Willie Twiston-Davies at Leicester as he bids to ride enough winners over fences to qualify for a ride in the Grand National but today's chances seemed no more than fair.

I think Betsalottie, who is vying for favouritism, can be rated a little better than that in the finale at Lingfield.

A course and distance winner last May (his sole success) from today's mark, he made a pleasing return to finish third at Kempton last month under Jane Elliott.

Elliott switches to John Bridger's other runner in the race, Bookmaker, while Mitch Godwin, one of the more experienced and successful apprentices in the race, comes in for the ride.

Godwin has 'only' ridden two winners from 19 rides for Bridger but 12 of those 19 have finished in the first four and he is drawn to attack on Betsalottie who shouldn't be far away.
