There's £50,000 on offer in the Boxing Day free-to-play ITV7 and Dave Smith has the guide you need for the crucial races.
GETAREASON ran a fine race over this course and distance in November in a race that has subsequently seen the fifth win and seventh place in a higher grade. The selection can be on the keen side but the tongue-tie stays on and that can help. Hold The Note is interesting back in trip and travelled well for a long way when last seen at Cheltenham, whilst a significant hike in the weights may be too much for Alnadam.
13:34 Wincanton - Lord Stalbridge Memorial Cup Handicap Chase - 3m 1f 30y
It's hard to look past NEARLY PERFECT who jumped and travelled powerfully at Wetherby and was somewhat kindly assessed by the handicapper. The ratings rise is offset by the jockey claim too and if he doesn't bounce then he's a clear pick ahead of Realm Keeper and Smuggler's Blues.
13:50 Kempton Park - Ladbrokes Kauto Star Novices' Chase (Grade 1) (GBB Race) - 3m
A fascinating renewal may just go the way of the hugely impressive SHAN BLUE. He showed a devastating turn of foot at Wetherby, immediately getting all rivals off the bridle. If The Cap Fits is rated some 7lb higher by the BHA and has some stellar form in the bank, but may just be susceptible to a younger horse. The Big Breakaway will be looking to bounce back, returning to a trip that's more suitable after defeat at Exeter.
14:05 Wetherby - William Hill Rowland Meyrick Handicap Chase (Grade 3) (GBB Race) - 3m 45y
Snow Leopardess was beaten fair and square by Shan Blue but she's an extremely tough mare and stayed on when the race was over as a contest. She'll have to be tough to get the better of SPIRITOFTHEGAMES who ran a blinder at Cheltenham in the Paddy Power Gold Cup and the form of that race has worked out extremely well with two subsequent winners.
14:10 Wincanton - Every Race Live On Racing TV Handicap Hurdle - 1m 7f 65y
A fairly low-grade and tricky puzzle to pick apart. CHEZ CASTEL MAIL was second in a better race and hasn't been given an overly harsh opening mark. He's very lightly race for an eight year old so is taken to score in what is an extremely open affair.
14:25 Kempton Park - Ladbrokes Christmas Hurdle (Grade 1) (GBB Race) - 2m
EPATANTE will be a warm order to take this and it's not hard to see why. She's the superstar of the division with no Irish raiders to tackle either. She made light work of her rivals in the Betfair Fighting Fifth at Newcastle and in receipt of the 7lb, she's almost impossible to oppose.
15:00 Kempton Park - Ladbrokes King George VI Chase (Grade 1) (GBB Race) - 3m
Another cracking renewal of the flagship Grade One of the day. Paul Nicholls' main pair are together at the top of the market and reigning champ Clan Des Obeaux will be looking to make it a hat-trick in the race. His stablemate Cyrname is taken to progress past him this time, but LOSTINTRANSLATION is the selection. He disappointed at Haydock when well beaten, yet this is more suitable ground and he ran a blinder in the Cheltenham Gold Cup in March.
