1pt win Bruny Island in 8.30 Doncaster at 4/1 - looks ready to win and should appreciate a flat track

8.30 Doncaster Preview

There were a lot of positives to gleam from BRUNY ISLAND'S last start.

A former Mark Johnston inmate, he had his first run for Charlie Fellowes in December and won very comfortably off a mark of 47.

His tendency to run freely played against him in his next two starts although he didn't disgrace himself.

After a four-month lay off he ran a real solid race finishing second to the progressive Heather Main trained Rake'a Progress at Newmarket.

Having run a bit keen once again he really stuck to the job well and in my opinion just ran into one. They finished four lengths clear of the third and for me looks like a horse who is ready to win.

A three-pound penalty isn't overly harsh and I think he will appreciate a flat track like Doncaster.

There are a few go forward horses and hope the race is run at a decent gallop.  If it is I feel he will take all the beating and he is worth a bet.
