Hold The Serve continued his progression after firing an ace at his rivals to make it a hat-trick of wins for the campaign in the Ladbrokes ‘New Horse Racing Bet Builder’ Handicap Hurdle Race at Kempton Park.
The Olly Murphy-trained six-year-old made it three wins from as many starts since undergoing a wind operation following his defeat on his rules debut under Cheltenham when seeing out the two miles five furlong trip best of them all.
Racing just off the pace for much of the race the 15/8 moved up alongside eventual runner-up Royal Infantry on jumping the second last in the hands of Sean Bowen, who passed the 200 winner mark for the campaign on Friday.
And although jumping the last big it failed to halt the momentum of the Jukebox Jury gelding who passed the post with three and a half lengths in hand to set up a trip to Aintree in April.
Murphy said: “He is three from three since having the wind operation. He was a little bit ring rusty from three out to two out with it being his first time in a handicap, but that didn’t surprise me. I thought he had a nice mark and he is a horse that will go to Aintree now.
“He has had a good season, but hopefully he is not done with quite yet. He will go over either two and a half or three miles at Aintree. The flat track there will suit him well.
“Hopefully he will be a horse to keep on the right side moving forward as he will be a lovely chaser. He could be a graded novice chaser if he continues going in the right direction.
“He stays well, he relaxes well and his jumping his very good so I’m looking forward to next season.”

Nicky Henderson continued to ride the crest of a wave after Califet En Vol came good over fences at the fourth time of asking in the ‘Join Ladbrokes Bet £5 Get £30 Handicap Chase.
Having watched stable star Constitution Hill make a winning debut on the Flat at Southwell on Friday night the Lambourn handler was back on the mark on more familiar territory thanks to the seven-year-old gelding in the £40,000 contest.
Arriving on the back of three successive defeats over fences at Cheltenham the Califet gelding appeared to appreciate the switch back to a flatter track after staying on resolutely in the extended two and a half mile prize to defeat recent course winner Viroflay.
And having mastered the long time leader in the run between the final two fences the 9/4 chance found plenty for pressure under Nico de Boinville before going on to score by two and a half lengths.
Henderson said: “He deserved it. We just had an idea after his third run at Cheltenham as little errors were creeping in at the second last. He won the Sidney Banks at Huntingdon last season and we just had the idea a flatter track would be more his cup of tea.
“He travelled nicely there all the way. Nico gave him a beautiful ride. He has had the experience to come and take on open handicappers.
“He had the pace to go a good gallop. Does he need further, he would probably get it, but does he need it. If you can travel comfortably at that pace you might as well stay at this trip.
“There is the race here the Saturday after Cheltenham so that might be on the agenda.
“We were thinking of Aintree or coming here on that Saturday in March, but Max [McNeill, joint-owner] loves going to Ayr so there is that as well. He is probably a good ground horse."

Jamie Snowden celebrated a winner in the Royal silks after Fine Shot defied a 380-day absence in the Ladbrokes ‘Best Odds Guaranteed On Racing’ Open National Hunt Flat Race.
Despite not being sighted since running a race full of promise in third on his rules debut at Huntingdon in February last year the gelded son of Jack Hobbs showed he was more than ready to roll on his return in the two mile contest.
After racing close to the pace early on the 9/1 chance drifted back as Jambon under Freddie Gordon raced into a big lead over the rest of the field.
However, as his run began to come to an end down the home straight Fine Shot threw down his challenge with Smile John Boy, before being joined late in the day by Rattlin Home, who lived up to his name under Harry Skelton.
But Fine Shot was not to be denied making a winning return for His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen with Gavin Sheehan driving his mount out to victory by a length and a half.
Snowden said: “The run at Huntingdon was lovely. It was his debut that day and we rode him to run well. He picked up a bit of a niggle that day and we have just been patient with him.
“We were going to go hurdling but at this stage of the season there was no point so we thought let’s chance our arm in a decent bumper as we knew he had been working well.
“I think he is a very talented horse that has size and scope. It is a very proud moment. I’m proud to have ridden in them and delighted to have trained a winner in them.
“British racing needs the Royal Family to be part of it and we are lucky to have a nice horse for them. We are lucky they have supported us and we are delighted we can repay them with a nice winner.
“We will see how he is on the back of today, but Aintree is the obvious race going forward and he will be an exciting horse to see over a hurdle in the autumn.”
