WATCH: Is this the worst penalty ever from Swansea's Bersant Celina?

It was a night to forget for Bersant Celina at West Brom on Tuesday night...

Swansea were beaten 3-0 by the Baggies as the hosts look to try and close the nine-point gap between themselves and the automatic promotion places.

However, they could have lost the lead towards the end of the first-half when Swansea were awarded a penalty. Celina grabbed the ball and had a golden opportunity to net an equaliser.

The forward stepped up but his attempted chipped spot kick was so bad that it almost went backwards. Not quite the Sergio Aguero type that was on show during Manchester City's 7-0 demolition of Schalke on Tuesday night.

The incident comes just days before Swansea face current Premier League champions City in the FA Cup. A game in which Celina, a former City academy player, will be out to prove a point.

Speaking to the Mirror about his time at the club, Celina said: "Of course, I wanted to make it there, but City have the best players in the world. Aguero, David Silva, Kevin De Bruyne, Raheem Sterling and Fernandinho have been doing it for years at the top level.

"To get past them, you have to be incredible, but training and playing with the first team was an amazing experience and education I will never forget.

"I could have stayed if I'd wanted and still been a City player now. I had a couple of years left on my contract, but there was no point in doing that.

Saturday will be a chance for Celina to showcase what he can do, although that penalty miss was not the ideal preparation. "I wanted to go to a club that owns me and appreciates me as a player of their club and not just a loan player," Celina continued.

"If you aren’t in the first team, I can’t think of many players who would want to stay and be in the background or out on loan all the time. You want an identity.

"So I have no regrets at leaving City – far from it. I’m very happy at Swansea."
