Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock has hit out at Liverpool, saying they lacked class and respect over their handling of Nathaniel Clyne's loan move out of Anfield.
Warnock wanted the right back to boost Cardiff's survival bid and believed he had won the services of Clyne, before Liverpool instead opted to send the 27-year-old to Premier League rivals Bournemouth.
The England International, whose managed just two starts this season, started his career at Crystal Palace, where Warnock handed him his first senior start. Clyne went on to make 122 appearances for the club.
Speaking to Sky Sports Warnock said: "I'm really disappointed how this unfolded.
"What I was disappointed in is, having known Nathaniel for so long and giving him his professional debut, to not get a phone call from Nathaniel or Liverpool I thought that just stank and it lacked class.
"When you are doing your business properly from your end and you are waiting for a call [to confirm the deal is done] it deserves respect and I don't think they showed us any of that."
