Jose Mourinho finally had something to smile about as Alexis Sanchez scored one and set up another as Manchester United won their first pre-season friendly in 90 minutes with a 2-1 victory over Real Madrid.
The Spanish giants were cut down to size early on when Matteo Darmian cut back a cross into the Madrid box for Sanchez to steer home past Kiko Casilla.
Jose Mourinho's side doubled up nine minutes later when Sanchez turned provider.
Juan Mata delivered a cross into the box, with Sanchez cleverly heading the ball into the path of Ander Herrera on 27 minutes.
Madrid got one back just before the break through Karim Benzema, who latched on to a probing cross by Theo Hernandez.
United - who gave a start to new signing Fred - only managed 29% of the possession and completed half the number of passes Madrid managed.
The pace at the Hard Rock Stadium dropped in the second half, as Julen Lopetegui's side made 10 changes while United gave youth prospect James Garner a run out.
Tottenham beat Milan
Georges-Kevin N'Koudou got his second goal in as many International Champions Cup games as Tottenham beat AC Milan 1-0 in Minneapolis.
After a quiet first half at the US Bank Stadium, the 23-year-old winger broke the deadlock on 47 minutes when he fired past Antonio Donnarumma.
The Frenchman drove into the Milan box and shot, with the Italian keeper only able to get a fingertip to it.
Christian Eriksen and Son Heung-min were given 30 minutes, while development squad players Luke Amos, George Marsh and Anthony Georgiou started alongside academy product Oliver Skipp.
Spurs are undefeated in 90 minutes in pre-season, having beaten Roma 4-1 and drawing 2-2 with Barcelona, but going on to lose 5-3 on penalties, in the International Champions Cup.
