New Group Bets format: The Sporting Life team give their weekend wagers for their Group Bet

Take a look at the Saturday selections from the Sporting Life team as they embark on week 13 of their Group Bet campaign, a new way to bet on football at Sky Bet.

Our football team have set up their own group and if you want to do the same, all you have to do is set one up and invite your friends before building an accumulator together.

Once all group players have chipped in with their selection, you can choose whether you want to back it as an accumulator or take out a leg of the bet, in case you think one of your mates has thrown in a dodgy choice.

Week 12 Reaction:

It was more turmoil for Billy Lumsden as Bradford were thumped 4-0 at home to Southend, handing him a fourth successive defeat. Speaking of four losses in a row, George Pitts saw his Nottingham Forest selection lose, while Tom Carnduff was close with a Doncaster win, but a John Brayford stoppage time equaliser prevented him from attaining back-to-back victories.

Paul Higham's return to the side worked from his perspective as he was the only Sporting Life member to pick up a win after Blackburn saw off Ipswich 2-0 at Ewood Park. Despite this, Higham is unavailable for this weekend's Group Bet, so Ben Linfoot rejoins the action, hoping to increase his 67 per cent win rate thus far.

Here are the current Sporting Life Group Bet standings:

  1. George Pitts: W-L-L-L-W-L-W-W-L-L-L-L (12 PTS)
  2. Tom Carnduff: W-W-L-L-L-L-L-L-L-W-L (9 PTS)
  3. Ben Linfoot: W-L-W (6 PTS)
  4. Billy Lumsden: L-W-L-L-L-L-L-W-L-L-L-L (6 PTS)
  5. Paul Higham: L-W-L-L-L-L-L-W (6 PTS)
  6. Chris Hammer: L-L (0 PTS)

Check out Sporting Life's Group Bet for Saturday's FA Cup and EFL action, which is made up of four selections from the team:

Billy Lumsden: Norwich (to beat Sheffield United) - 7/5

Daniel Farke's side have only the solitary loss in their last 16 Sky Bet Championship games, putting them just one point behind league leaders Leeds. They have scored three or more goals in their last five home matches, with Teemu Pukki firing on all cylinders, netting 16 times this season. Sheffield United have only one win from three on the road and I expect their recent away form to continue in this top of the table clash.

George Pitts: Wolves (to beat Shrewsbury) - 8/15

I think Wolves are a very good price to beat a Shrewsbury side who are sitting in 18th place in the Sky Bet League One. Wolves dispatched Premier League table-toppers Liverpool in the last round to set up this tie and they should really be going for the FA Cup as it seems sixth place will be too much of a stretch for Nuno Espirito Santo's team. The Shrews are without a win in five in Sky Bet League one, so i think this may be a bridge too far, with Wolves progressing to the FA Cup fifth round.

Tom Carnduff: Barnsley (to beat Rochdale) - 4/9

Barnsley boast one of the best home records in Sky Bet League One and are yet to lose at Oakwell in the league this season. They welcome a Rochdale side with consecutive defeats on the road, alongside five defeats in their last six in all competitions, so they will continue their fine form in this contest and I will rack up a second win in three.

Ben Linfoot: Hull (to beat Blackburn) - 2/1

Hull are the Sky Bet Championship's form side at the moment, enjoying a 10-match unbeaten run which has seen them rise to eight place, just six points adrift of Derby in the play-off places. They went 2-0 up at Aston Villa last week but squandered the lead in the end, however have recorded impressive results by earning three points at QPR, Preston and Leeds. Blackburn seem vulnerable to better teams at Ewood Park and have only won six from 14 at home this campaign, recently losing to Sheffield United and Norwich there, so i think it is a very generous price for Hull this weekend considering their form.
