Sean Dyche has been backed to be the next Everton boss - but so has former Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel.
Dyche was 4/1 immediately after the news of Ronald Koeman's departure broke, but was punted into 11/8 before being eased out to 15/8 during the evening.
The evening drift came as a result of support for David Moyes, who was 9/1 for a sensational return to Goodison before being punted into 5/1. Moyes is now out to 7/1 in the latest betting.
Sam Allardyce is now out 12/1 from 3/1 earlier in the day to embark on another firefighting job, while former Bayern Munich boss Carlo Ancelotti is 8/1 from 12/1.
Thomas Tuchel is the latest name linked with the vacancy with the former Dortmund boss backed into 4/1 second favourite on Tuesday morning.
The Toffees sit third bottom in the Premier League after winning just two of their opening nine league games and Koeman has paid the price.
A statement from the club read: "Chairman Bill Kenwright, the board of directors and major shareholder Farhad Moshiri would all like to express their gratitude to Ronald for the service he has given to the club over the past 16 months and for guiding the club to seventh place in last season's Premier League campaign."
West Ham's Slaven Bilic is the new odds-on favourite to be the next Premier League manager to leave his current job, with the Everton link sending Dyche's price tumbling.
Koeman reported for training at Everton's Finch Farm facility on Monday morning, with preparations for the Carabao Cup game at Chelsea seemingly under way.
But Kenwright and chief executive Robert Elstone were later reported arriving on site unexpectedly and Koeman's dismissal was confirmed soon after.
Everton Under-23s manager David Unsworth - a 9/2 shot in the latest betting - has been placed in temporary charge of the first team following Koeman's sacking.
"Everton Football Club can confirm that David Unsworth will take temporary charge of the Everton first team, commencing with tomorrow night's Carabao Cup tie at Stamford Bridge," said an Everton statement.
